How to Make a Natural and Colorful Easter Centerpiece

Easter is a little over two weeks away so you still have time to make a colorful Easter centerpiece like the one I’m sharing today. Full disclosure – I did not make this centerpiece myself but rather found the tutorial and secured the right to share these photos with you. Having said that, I do plan to create this pretty and natural-looking centerpiece for my dining table. (This post contains affiliate links – see my privacy policy.)

First thing you’re going to need is a strip of bark. You can easily find something just by looking on the ground while taking a walk in the woods. I see them all over when walking nature trails. If you can find one with moss on it, that’s all the better! If the bark is wet, let it dry indoors. The next step is to add moss. You can apply preserved moss to the bark strip using a hot glue gun. Be sure to leave some of the wood exposed for added interest.

While the glue is cooling, create vases from uncooked eggs. Use the tip of a knife to start a hole in the top of the egg. The hole needs to be large enough to fit a few flower stems into the egg. Be careful not to crack the egg since you’ll add a bit of water inside and you don’t want your egg vase to leak. Empty the egg contents into a separate bowl and refrigerate. You can use the eggs for a recipe.

Gently rinse the inside of the egg shell with water and use a soft cloth to pat the outside dry. You can then hot glue the bottom of the egg to your bark and moss centerpiece. It’s best if you can glue the egg to the soft moss as opposed to the uneven surface of the bark. Work carefully to keep the egg from cracking or breaking.

Once the glue has cooled, you can add your flowers. Pour water into each hollowed egg, about one-half to two-thirds filled. Choose smaller flowers from the grocery store for your colorful Easter centerpiece. You can also pick violas, pansies, grape hyacinths, and other small spring flowers from your yard if you have them. Cut the stems to the appropriate height for your egg vase and arrange flowers inside each egg vase. You can also use small faux flowers for this project, and skip adding water to each emptied shell.

For the finishing touch, add small speckled eggs to your colorful Easter centerpiece. You can choose to place them loosely or hot glue them to the moss. Lay a few on the side next to your centerpiece, if desired.

Look how pretty your new Easter centerpiece will look when you set the table for Easter Sunday. It doesn’t take too long to create and it’s inexpensive, too. Plus it’s a low centerpiece so people can see each other across the table.

This easy Easter decoration doesn’t have to go on your dining table. You can also use it to decorate a mantel, shelf, or coffee table. It’s such a sweet piece!

  1. This is so pretty. What a great idea. Looks perfect on the bark. I feel the need to mention that Easter is actually only a little more than 1 week away lol. It’s the 9th.
