Strawberry season quickly approaches and when these bright red berries are ripe and juicy, nothing could be sweeter! My sister Kathy has a farm in Michigan where they grow strawberries, blueberries, corn, apples, and more. I remember picking strawberries out of the patch and eating them right then and there in her field in Michigan. Heaven! No need to buy not-quite-ripened strawberries at the store. I had a craving for these sweet beauties the other day and grabbed some out of the organic aisle. I thought I’d take it one step further and show how to make white chocolate covered strawberries! Mmm, mmm, good!
Start by selecting quality white chocolate, or you can use almond bark too.
Melt the chocolate according to package instructions.
If you want you can add sugar sprinkles for color, or even roll them in chopped nuts. Place the covered strawberry on waxed paper until the candy hardens. Refrigerate any that you don’t eat right away.
If you live in the Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo area, you can pick your own berries at my sister’s place, Cotant’s Farm Market in Hastings, Michigan.
