Charming Traditional Home ~ Jennifer Rizzo
Honestly I can’t recall how I found Jennifer Rizzo’s blog. It was most likely during her annual Christmas tour that I stumbled across it and fell in love. From there, I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer in person at the nearby Kane County Flea Market where she’s a regular vendor. I love her style and have several of her items in my home. Well, one thing led to another and now I’m a monthly contributor for Jennifer’s blog! Funny how once you start pulling a thread, an entire story starts to unravel. Today I’m especially honored to feature Jennifer’s charming traditional home, the 6th to be featured in my Charming Home Series!
Timeless style is accented by elements of nature in Jennifer’s living room. She has the cutest pillows ever! I must confess … whenever I’m pillow shopping … I’m looking for pillows like the ones seen here on the couch. Fun, pretty, colorful, and with birds on them. Speaking of critters, can you find the doggie in this picture? I didn’t notice him at first (maybe it’s a her?).
Speaking of timelessness, I love the over-sized clocks that Jennifer displays throughout her home. This one appears in her entryway. She added coat hooks just inside the door and a convenient shoe rack.
I think my favorite room in Jennifer’s house is her charming kitchen. Before it got its makeover, the kitchen had stained cabinets. I love that Jennifer painted them white … it really brightens up the space. Jen recently swapped out the kitchen island you see here for a new island!
A chandie over the kitchen island, a soft curtain for a door, and a pale blue hutch come together to create a beautiful kitchen, worthy of a feature in Country Living Magazine!
Just off the kitchen is an intimate dining space with a beautiful curvy mirror.
Another chandie takes up residence in this quaint space.
An expanse of rich, hardwood floors stretches from the kitchen through the dining nook.
Jennifer’s creative office space is just beyond the bead board wall.
Jennifer’s bathroom was recently made over in a cottage style vibe.
Note how she pulls out the color of the floral painting with a vase of flowers on the shelf.
Jennifer had fun transforming her mid-tween’s bedroom into a Boho Chic refuge from the world.
Once again, fun colorful pillows take center stage. LOVE the butterfly print above the bed … you can see that a nature theme runs thoughout Jen’s charming traditional home.
When you tour her blog, you’ll enjoy a variety of makeovers Jennifer has created over the years.
The master bedroom was transformed into a serene retreat.
But that’s not all …
Charming outdoor garden vignettes await when you step into Jennifer’s backyard.
A true artist, she adds a special element of style to everything she does.
Jennifer is part of a team that’s teaching the “Building a Creatively Made Business” online course.

Lovely home and the kitchen is my favorite as well. I had remembered seeing her kitchen before and then after scrolling down further I saw that it was featured Country Living magazine. That is like the ultimate compliment and Jennifer certainly deserved it for her talent and hard work. Thank you for the tour.
