Mustard Yellow Farmhouse Kitchen That Will Make You Smile

Most people love designer kitchens with functionality and sleek appearance. Not me, so much. While I appreciate the beauty of a high-end kitchen, I’ll take a cozy unfit kitchen that reminds me of my grandmother cooking her Sunday pot roast. Today I’m showcasing a mustard yellow farmhouse kitchen by deVOL Kitchens that pulls on my heart strings in every way possible.

First, the yummy color of the kitchen cabinets. This shade of mustard is deVOL’s Scullery Yellow paint, which unfortunately is not available for purchase outside of the UK. For a close match, use Peanut Butter by Benjamin Moore or Behr’s Sweet Mustard

This mustard yellow farmhouse kitchen is found in the loft at deVOL’s Cotes Mill location. It radiates warmth and vintage appeal with its unfitted approach to design. To add an eclectic, modern element, Carrara marble is used for the work surfaces.

The rustic, wide-planked floors invite spills and lived-in appeal. Kids can drag chairs across the floor as new scratches are part of the vintage vibe. That’s my kind of kitchen. One you can truly live and cook in without worry of harming a surface.

An aged brass faucet set adds to the old English feeling of the space, along with a worn bread board and creamy canisters on the shelf above.

A long table serves as a dining or work space. The hutch connects to built-in seating beneath the window. And to make the best use of space and storage, a shelf wraps around the corner.

Another option to the same corner is to insert deVOL’s gorgeous Vineyard Table for cozy in-kitchen meals. It’s paired with a pair of antique chairs.

The kitchen floor has seen many years of activity and could tell a myriad of stories. Wall task lights are incorporated throughout the mustard yellow farmhouse kitchen and are perfect with their creamy shades and brass arms.

A backdrop of white walls allows the cabinet paint color to stand out. I can’t think of a warmer, more inviting shade for a kitchen. Some people aren’t fans of mustard yellow, but it truly works in this kitchen space.

I hope you enjoyed today’s mustard yellow farmhouse kitchen by deVOL Kitchens as much as I did. I found several ideas to implement in my own unfit kitchen. I’m now rethinking my faucet and cabinet hardware! It’s always something when it comes to our homes, but it’s the journey that makes it fun.

    1. I never thought I would use Mustard Yellow but after seeing this kitchen I am rethinking my opinion. This color looks fabulous and brings warmth and coziness to the room. Thankyou Jennifer for sharing it with your readers.

      1. Hi Kathy! I never thought I’d be a fan of mustard yellow either, but lately I’m drawn to it. I think this kitchen is the best use of this color that I’ve seen so far.

  1. I love, love, love the mustard yellow farmhouse kitchen.. please tell me it’s for sale here in Canada. I want to spend all my time baking in that simple style, beautiful kitchen. Thanks for sharing that beautiful space, makes me feel warm all over!!! Sheri

    1. Hi Sheri! It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I wasn’t sure how people would react to the color, but I love it just like you do. This kitchen is in the UK, but the designer, deVOL Kitchens, has a storefront in New York. I asked when they’re coming to Chicago! LOL.

  2. Love it. My maternal grandmother’s spice cabinet was painted almost this exact color. When I open my own spice cabinet, the aromas are so nostalgic. She made the best pumpkin pies. My mother was also a good cook, but she never could quite master a pumpkin pie that tasted like Grandma’s. My father liked to tease my mother by always making a big deal about Belle’s pumpkin pie when we would go there for family dinners at the holidays.

    1. Hi Teddee! Now you have me wanting to bake a pumpkin pie this weekend! I always make the filling from a real pumpkin, not the canned stuff. I could almost smell that spice cabinet when you wrote about it!

  3. I love this for a kitchen color. I have a deep yellow shade in mine , but not quite that dark or deep. I can’t remember the shade but it all started with the color ocher in my den.
