Transitional Kitchen with Blue-Gray Cabinets

kitchen ideas August 6, 2020

Enjoy touring a beautiful transitional kitchen with cabinets painted in a dreamy blue-gray color. If you’re not familiar with the term “transitional” when it comes to decorating styles, it’s basically a mix of traditional and modern.

It’s nice to see color coming back to kitchen spaces, although I do still enjoy a white kitchen provided it has touches of warmth. My own kitchen is mostly white but at least my green tile floor adds color and interest.

What drew my eye to this transitional kitchen is the custom cabinetry and gorgeous blue-gray finish. Not to mention details like the small glass-front cabinet doors that show off white dishes. The traditional part of this kitchen is the shaker-style cabinets, while the more modern aspect is the brushed silver hardware.

The matching pendant lights are interesting, too.

That looks like a coffee plant on the right. I have one on my kitchen windowsill and it’s super easy to grow. And since it’s a “coffee” plant – it’s perfect for a kitchen.

And hello gorgeous European oven and stove surrounded by white-painted brick! I would love to have one of these in my home. The wooden mantel adds a rustic vibe.

This view provides a glimpse of the dining nook and the unique wooden door that leads to the outside. A white paneled ceiling with recessed lighting finishes off the room.

The expansive kitchen island provides space for ample seating with cute wood stools and upholstered seats.
