Create a Nature Board with Free Printables

crafts, Printables April 9, 2019

Join me today for a super simple home decor project you can make in just minutes. It’s a nature board with free printables you can download right here on my blog!

Nature Board with Free Printables

I have a rustic looking board made with strips of whitewashed wood. Small clips have been attached along with decorative corner treatments. At Christmas, I used it to display vintage gift tags and small ornaments. I was debating whether to put it in storage or find another use when it dawned on me to create a nature board.

Vintage Botanical for Scrapbooking

What prompted me to put the clip board to use was this inside front cover of an old book that came unattached. I was cleaning and it fell on the floor. So I clipped it to the board until I finished vacuuming. I decided I liked the old cover clipped to the board and thought about what else to hang on it.

The poem talks about “glory in my soul” and “glory all around” so why not add examples of God’s glorious creation … and so the idea of a nature board was born!

Flowers, butterflies, and plant prints (all from The Graphics Fairy) were used to embellish the board and bring a bit of nature inside. After printing the images and clipping them up, I thought they looked a little lost. So I added remnants of kraft paper behind the pics to make them stand out.

An old book page behind a butterfly print provides the same type of depth and interest.

And this one I left as is just to break things up a bit.

My white rustic clipboard came from Hobby Lobby, but you could use any piece of wood and hot glue vintage-looking clips to it.

I am in love with this idea. I was using clip boards to hang up seasonal botanical prints but I love how this combines vintage book pages, weathered wood, and vintage elements all in one fantastic display! Beautiful job!
