An Oregon Cottage: Charming Home Tour
Last week was the Republican National Convention and this coming week is the Democratic National Convention. If you need a break from all the political rhetoric, look no further than this charming home tour of An Oregon Cottage. Jami recently sold her beautiful cottage and I’m honored to be able to feature it. She’s made several changes during the years she’s lived there, so be sure to visit her blog to see all the transformations.
Jami likes white and so do I. She created a bright and airy living room by pairing whites with neutral textiles. Her window treatments are simple, allowing plenty of natural light to flow into this beautiful space. Did you notice the tree stump table? The brick fireplace is attractively framed with bookcases that display favorite belongings.
Jami loves the French doors in her dining room, and so do I. You know who else is a fan of French doors? Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper. I think this room looks like Joanna herself might have decorated it. Jami has a great eye when it comes to decorating.
True to her industrial cottage decorating theme, it’s no surprise that Jami’s charming kitchen has white cabinets and dark counter tops. A skirted sink under a sunny window adds a bit of softness while a pair of glass-front cabinets show off favorite dishes.
I’m always in awe when I see a pretty laundry room, and Jami’s is one of my favorites. The painted bead board, white cabinets, and gathered skirt to hide appliances and plumbing, all come together to create a beautiful farmhouse style laundry room. An old washboard hanging on the wall adds just the right touch of whimsy.
Jami’s clever decorating style reaches out to her garage, where she converted the space into a beautiful office and work area.
Jami’s daughter’s bedroom is dressed in fun color, with blue above and green below the chair rail. Soft curtains have ribbons of color and a pretty chandelier hangs over head. But the true star of this room might just be that beautiful cottage style bed cloaked in a wedding ring quilt.
A soft sage green dresses the walls in the master bedroom with its painted plank ceiling and board and batten treatment below the chair rail. A simple trio of white platters is all that’s needed to adorn the bed.
The master bathroom also receives the benefit of Jami’s talented decorating eye. A gorgeous claw foot tub takes center stage while a dresser is transformed into a pretty vanity.
The main bathroom in the house is equally pretty, with glass pulls on the vanity and pretty scroll work just under the sink. Creamy white allows the natural light from the window to bounce around and brighten the room.
Outside, Jami added a gravel patio with a pretty gazebo and al fresco dining area.
Beautiful blue hydrangeas add instant curb appeal to Jami’s quaint yellow cottage. It’s easy to see why her charming home sold so quickly. Be sure to visit Jami at An Oregon Cottage to see more of her creativity and pretty style!
