I love pretty boxes! They usually hold pretty things. I have some “new” boxes in my possession. Some of the boxes shown in this post are mine, and some are part of a package that I won at Rhonda’s giveaway at A Little Bit French. I’ll show you the little boxes Rhonda made, first. They’re so adorable!
These little matchboxes are graced with French book pages, lace, and French graphics.
I love the graphics Rhonda chose for these precious little boxes.
And I love the touches of vintage lace.
And look at the tiny treasures inside!
I loved peeking inside each one.
And was thrilled to find the tiny Hope necklace in one of them.
I was so glad I won the giveaway!
This is a cigar box I recently embellished.
The little latch still works.
I left the original cigar label on the box, which is on the right, and used a mix of sheet music and book pages.
And here’s the inside. I listed this on
Etsy and it just sold.
It’s on its way over to Australia and I love that something I created will be on the other side of the world.
I painted it with a mix of Annie Sloan’s Old Ochre and Pure White chalk paint.
The music is from Handel’s Messiah.
Some distressing and a final coat of Mod Podge to seal everything complete the project.
I decoupaged the inside, as well.
Using a perfume label from … you guessed it … The Graphics Fairy!
I’ve got some more cigar boxes to alter and then it’s on to making holiday decorations.
I love all of these. I’ve always wondered what could be done with matchboxes…they’re so cute and small. Thanks for these ideas. Bless you, Gail (BibleLoveNotes.com)
The matchboxes are so sweet…I love the “hope” charm and your photos are lovely!
I’ve been buying some cigar boxes recently. You’ve given me some lovely inspiration for them. Are yours wooden?
I’m really into pretty boxes too, but for me it always seems that I’m drawn to wooden boxes 🙂

So sweet ~ I love them all, Jennifer!!
These are all so beautiful! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful creations. You truly are gifted & inspiring
I had a question for you. I am working on covering a notebook with some pretty vintage-inspired scrapbook paper. What would you recommend using to attach/glue the back of the paper with. I tried Modge Podge, but it began to dry before I was done gluing.
When you get a moment, would you mind e-mailing me with any recommentdations you might have?

Have a beautiful & blessed day!
