Spreadin’ the Blog Love

Recently I’ve been given 2  awards that are to be passed on to other bloggers. So this post is all about spreadin’ the blog love. One thing I’ve learned in my short time of blogging is that there are a LOT of talented bloggers out there. So many crafters, cooks, decorators, writers, photographers … Go Girl Power! (I say this only because I’ve only come across a few male bloggers.) On to spreadin’ the love …

Holly at Down to Earth Style awarded me the Blog on Fire award. Thank you so much, Holly!
It’s truly an honor because you fall into that uber-talented group of decorators/designers
(as ya’ll can tell by her beautiful home in her photo above). Be sure to visit Holly!

And so, I’d like to pass the Blog on Fire award on to a blogger that I especially enjoy and is near and dear to my heart.
I hope you’ll visit her blog, follow along, leave a comment … you know the drill.
Meet Bridget of Flour and Friends, which is mostly about baking and cooking from scratch.
Isn’t she beautiful? She studied pastry arts and happens to be my daughter who recently married. {smile}
We created a lot of DIY stuff for her wedding on a farm, which you can view here and here.
And now, Bridget and I are helping to plan her sister Stephanie’s wedding, which takes place June 9th.

On to the next award I received this week, which is the Liebster award. My daughter Bridget awarded it to me.
Liebster means “favorite” in German and is an award meant to be shared with 5 new bloggers who have less than 200 followers
(I had less than 200 when I got this). And first on the list to receive the Liebster award is …
… another Bridget! This time, she’s no relation but she packs a party-planning punch on her blog,
Bridgey Widgey. Her tag line is “One Party at a Time” and you’ve just got to check out all her
party planning ideas, from Valentine’s Day to Bridal Showers to Kid’s Parties and more.
This lady knows how to party on a budget!

Next up is Kathy’s blog, A Spectacular Mess. She has cool tutorials like how to make flowers from old sewing patterns.
You could use tissue or something similar, but what a great way to recycle those old patterns from McCall’s and Butterick.
Kathy also makes cool jewelry and sells them in her Etsy Shop. Yes, I purchased one from her and love it.
Susan at A Circle of Buttons is another creative type who makes beautiful treasures,
like these detailed ornaments. Learn how to paint branches and more on her blog.
Susan and Kathy are friends and I’m honored to know both these ladies personally.
Another Liebster recipient is a Swedish blog called Fallorna. Margareta’s home and garden are just beautiful.
She uses lots of white, as is typical in her corner of the world. The blog is not written in English,
but pictures paint 1000 words, and you can always turn on the translator.
My final choice for the Liebster award is Laura at Whimsical Perspective who doesn’t live too far from me.
We’ve never met face to face but her furniture can be seen and purchased at Carter’s Cottage Interiors where I buy Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Look at this lovely table she painted! Her blog is chock-full of projects like this one. Be sure to check her out!
I truly hope you’ll check out these lovely ladies and their up-and-coming blogs.
They’ve inspired me … I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration from them too!

  1. Congratulations on receiving this award. You have mentioned several blogs that I have never heard of but would love to check out. Hence the dilemma, so many blogs and so little time. Oh well, sleep is over rated anyways.:)
