Summer Living and an Amazing Fly Fishing Cabin: Friday Finds

Despite the heat wave in parts of the country, I’m truly enjoying summer so far. Thankfully, we’ve only had one week of weather where it hit above 90 degrees, and I was in Wisconsin so I missed it! This is my season and I plan to love every second of it. Today I’m doing some gardening – pulling weeds and fertilizing flowers – and then I’ll relax by the pond with a new book.

I’ve got some really great finds for you this Friday. The creativity and inspiration produced by others never ceases to amaze me. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s treasures as much as I do.

Sea Roost summer cabin

Have you ever been to Montauk, a hamlet situated on the east end of Long Island? I found the most perfect cabin called the Sea Roost that you can rent!

A while back I posted about cottagecore, the latest lifestyle trend. Sarah at She Holds Dearly recently posted ideas for embracing this trend that I think you’ll enjoy.

My friend Suzy shared her master bedroom makeover that I just love! It’s so serene and peaceful; I think you’ll agree.

You don’t want to miss this most amazing fly fishing cabin I’ve ever seen. It combines farmhouse with rustic and just a touch of elegance. You don’t want to miss this beauty by Abby Hetherington Interiors.

This hand embroidered pennant with native flowers is for sale in Argentina but it would be fairly easy to make if you know how to embroider. I think it’s so pretty and perfect for use as a summer bunting.

And oh, I am SO trying this grilled goat cheese sandwich with honey and spice recipe. Normally I’m not a huge fan of grilled cheese sandwiches but when you put goat cheese and honey together, I’m all on board!

Enjoy your 4th of July holiday weekend. Sunday we’re celebrating my grandson Henry’s first birthday!

  1. Love the cottage core style. It’s a place for former country or shabby chic lovers to land. Just helped a friend scale back from heavy Victorian/country decor and “cottage core” was the result. Sooo glad we saved SOME doilies!! 🙌
