What Happens When You Add Wonderful Wallpaper: Cozy Saturday
Wonderful wallpaper! I’ve always been a fan of adding pattern to any room and what better way to do that than with a wallpaper you love? There are literally thousands of patterns in a variety of colors. The problem isn’t finding one you love – the problem is not becoming overwhelmed with all the choices available to you. No matter what you end up choosing, wallpaper immediately adds an element of coziness to any space. Take a look at today’s examples for some inspiration.
A light-colored, geometric paper adds instant appeal to this sunny entryway. The pattern creates more interest than plain painted walls. It’s a pattern that goes with vintage style (like the little entry table), traditional, or contemporary style. Plus it’s not likely a pattern that you’d easily tire of.

A floral print adds some depth to a hallway. If you’re somewhat apprehensive about adding some wonderful wallpaper to your home, start with a smaller space. You’ll probably find yourself loving it and wanting to paper more rooms in your house.

Don’t be afraid to go a little bolder! A darker geometric pattern looks fabulous in this kitchen with a rich wood coffered ceiling. Note how trim work and cabinetry are painted in the same hues as the paper. I find it’s best to choose your wallpaper and then settle on paint colors that either contrast or blend with the print.
Here’s another bold pattern, this time in a small powder room. There’s no need for artwork on the walls. The rich colors create beautiful coziness.
Here’s a unique architectural print of sailboats that’s perfect for a coastal home. When limitless patterns of wonderful wallpaper are available, how do you choose? I always go to a paint store with wallpaper books and limit myself to a certain number of books. I’ll look through them in the store and take three to five home with me to get a better idea of what the paper is going to look like. You could literally spend all day looking through the books and then it becomes overwhelming and you’re likely to go home with nothing.
Would you find a wallpaper pattern and color you like in a book you overlooked? Quite possibly, but who wants to stress and agonize over it? LOL. Not me. So I always limit my options.
I love this botanical tree print in cream and brown. It’s perfect for this pretty home office space. It’s subdued and peaceful, creating a serene work environment.

Mural style wallpapers are great choices too and look very elegant and classy. Contrary to what you might think, they’re easy to hang because you don’t have an all-over pattern. I always hang my own paper but that’s because my dad owned a decorating business and he showed me how to do it. Hanging wallpaper is like riding a bike. Once you learn how, you never forget.

I’ve seen this pattern a lot lately and I never tire of it. When you have molding on the lower half of the wall like this, papering becomes an easy task because you don’t have to hang long strips that can sometimes be challenging. This bathroom is absolutely beautiful with cozy appeal. In addition to the wonderful wallpaper, the vintage vanity is gorgeous.
Are you familiar with William Morris wallpaper? It became popular in the crafts and arts era and is enjoying a surge in popularity today. One of those ten wallpaper books I limit myself to is typically a William Morris book. The rich pattern and colors wrap you in a warm hug – perfect for any bedroom.
Sweet little patterns like the one seen in this bedroom are styles I tend to gravitate toward. The pattern is simple, not at all overpowering, but still lends cozy depth to the space.
Are you a fan of wallpaper? What prints and patterns do you prefer?
Removing wallpaper is the job I despise.
I do have our dining area in wallpaper though.
I’ve always loved wallpaper….even when it wasn’t “trending” for so many years. I’m glad it’s back with so many new options. I’ve always hung my own, learning from my mother and aunt through the years. The one thing I don’t like….it has become ridiculously expensive. That’s probably why you see so many papered feature walls instead of whole rooms. Also papering above wainscoting saves on the budget too. Bottom line…. I’ll never give it up no matter the cost. The drama, coziness, warmth and overall look to your space is well worth it!
Every pic in your post is gorgeous. I used to joke I’d wallpaper the garage if my husband was on board. So glad to see it’s very much in vogue and we just papered my daughter and son-in-law’s vestibule for them.
My favorite was the botanical tree. It fits perfectly in that room.
Just gorgeous. I’ve always liked wallpaper, but not in every room. That might be overwhelming. But the examples you have shown us are beautiful.
