Top Ten Posts of 2017: Reader Favorites
It’s the first week in January and that means it’s time for a look at the year in review for Town and Country Living. Here’s your Top Ten favorite blog posts from 2017 (i.e. the most visited), in order of popularity. Thanks to all of you who frequent my blog – without you, there would be no readers’ favorite posts. You can see more popular posts by other bloggers at the end of this article. A special thank you to the very talented Cami at Tidbits for organizing today’s tour of favorites around blog land!
1. DIY Knife Holder
This little DIY knife holder kitchen project took me just minutes to create (I found the idea in Flea Market magazine), and it quickly went viral on Facebook and Pinterest. Not only that, but I noticed Country Living magazine made their own version of it in their newest January/February magazine issue (you’ll see it on page 26).
2. Spring Home Tour
Readers seemed to enjoy my spring home tour which featured my new sitting room! Interestingly, Country Living magazine hosted the spring tour and featured it here, so that’s two posts in 2017 that involved them in some way. Note the stack of their magazines on the ottoman – my fave magazine for years!
3. Country Style Christmas Home Tour
My Christmas home tour always seems to be popular with readers, and for this I’m truly grateful. It takes a lot of work to pull this one together with all the decorating and photography that needs to be done!
4. Fall Farmhouse Tour: Part One
Apparently there’s a seasonal thing going on here because next on the list of top ten posts is the first part of my fall farmhouse tour – or maybe you guys just like house tours.
5. Vintage Easter Printable
Moving away from the home tours but keeping with a seasonal theme, the set of vintage Easter printables was a popular post with readers. You can still download the printables to use this year! Just visit the post.
6. Vintage Bird Printables
Vintage bird printables was my favorite decor project from 2017 so I’m happy to see it made the list of top ten posts. Visit the link to download and frame these beautiful birds!
7. Christmas Table Setting Ideas
Coming in at number eight, my post on Christmas table setting ideas made the top ten list. Some of these holiday ideas are mine, some are inspirational ideas I found on the web.
8. Spring Porch and Entryway
The next time I decorate my porch, it will be for the upcoming spring season. My 2017 spring porch and entryway is number eight on the list of reader favorites.
9. Summer Decorating Ideas: Home Tour
Summer makes its appearance on the top ten posts list at number nine with my summer decorating ideas home tour.
10. Fall Home Tour: Part Two
And finally, coming in at number ten is the second half of my fall home tour.
Thanks to all of you who visit my blog and make each year meaningful for me! I do appreciate each and every one of you and hope that you will find peace and joy in 2018.

Your house is beautiful year round, Jennifer! Thanks for the review of 2017 – I had missed your Spring home tour and it looks so pretty! I love the bird prints and your porch! I’ll have to keep an eye out for this year’s Spring tour.
Happy New Year, Jennifer! Wow, you inspired Country Living! I have to say I’m always so inspired by your projects and your home. Love visiting and can’t wait to see what 2018 holds for you!
You’ve had such an amazing year, Jennifer! I saw the books in Country Living and was shocked you weren’t credited! But we all know it was your idea 😉 Happy New Year!
Hugs, Jamie
Hi Jamie! Unfortunately I can’t take credit for being the originator of the idea. When I did the post about the book knife holder I mentioned that I had seen it in Flea Market magazine. So who knows where CL mag saw it? I was just shocked when it went viral! I decided to edit this post to reiterate the bit about first seeing it in Flea Market magazine. 🙂
Jennifer, I LOVE that project with the books! It’s so genius! Also, it’s so surprising to me to see how the seasonal home tours on most of our pages are some of the most popular. So good to know going into the new year.
Well it has been a fun year, looking forward to see what your ideas for 2018 will be. Thanks Jennifer.
Beautiful home! Thanks for sharing your top posts full of so much inspiration!
