White kitchens seem to be popular these days, but strong colors look great in the kitchen, too!

I thought it would be fun to share a collection of colorful kitchens for today’s Humpdays with Houzz.

Let’s start with a sunny yellow kitchen!

Paired with gray it becomes sophisticated and fun all at once.

A paler shade of yellow looks pretty in this farmhouse kitchen.

Touches of blue create pretty focal points.

Lighter blue cabinets are commonly found in cottage style kitchens.

It’s a fun, playful color … why not use it in a kitchen?

Would you ever use brilliant orange in your kitchen?

When we think of colorful kitchens, I don’t think many of us consider the color orange.

But in this kitchen, I think it works!

The next color up is beautiful green.

The great thing about painted kitchen cabinets,

is you can change their color as often as your heart desires.

In honor of my daughter, I’m ending this collection of colorful kitchens with pink.

Pink is her favorite color and she’s a little more modern than me.

So I think she’d love this cute pink kitchen.

So tell me … which of these colorful kitchens is your favorite?

  1. Oh goodness, I absolutely love the dark blue farmhouse kitchen. I’m a white-kitchen kinda person too but that one, in particular, speaks to me!

  2. I love the dark blue kitchen too. Since my kitchen is red, white and blue, I think dark blue cabinets would fit in beautifully.

  3. I love the red kitchen! I watched as this kitchen came together on her blog (Twice Remembered Cottage). I was fascinated by her choices at the time and her desire to create the perfect “Cottage kitchen” and I loved the roominess and functionality of this kitchen. This was also the first time I ever saw someone “plank” her ceiling and I still love the way it looks.

  4. I like the first one, the yellow and gray ~ very different but still has the farmhouse feel. I also love the red kitchen and I remember it from her blog also ~ so charming. Can you believe I didn’t pick the light blue one? I actually do really like it a lot!!

    1. Hi Sandra! I hope to get that posted this weekend! My hubby loves them. Thanks for the reminder! 🙂

  5. I love the first one. I’m. Not for sure I would consider orange in the kitchen, although it is used to stimulate creativity. When we remodeled I selected red for my cabinets. It was not a popular choice with my contractor! Thanks for sharing the beautiful kitchens…B

  6. I like the pale yellow kitchen. And Kim’s kitchen of course! Hers was the first “cottage style” blog I ever read, and she has influenced my style a lot. Love Twice Remembered Cottage!

    1. Hi Robin! Click on the photo and it will take you to its source on Houzz. There, you can either look to see if the designer listed the color, or you can post a question asking that. 🙂

  7. I’ve never been a fan of yellow, but the 2nd kitchen in pale yellow is beautiful, I could live with that!!! However, the 3rd kitchen in dark blue completely stole my heart!!!

  8. I like the lighter blue kitchen. My kitchen has a beautiful, to me, Talavera tile backsplash with aqua colored cabinets. I love my kitchen!

  9. Pale yellow or dark blue. I have wood and am thinking of going white…but now I’m thinking color!

  10. I’m in love with the black one and the cream colored with accents of blue. So classy!! Thanks for sharing such inspiration. 😉

  11. On wild ends of the spectrum: 1). The cream colored 2). The dark blue 3) the yellow and orange. Fun post
