According to the dictionary, a living room is a room in the house used by family for leisure activities or entertaining guests. But growing up, our living room was a formal area where we weren’t allowed to go. The only time I remember using that room at all was on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Today, with more homes embracing open concept floor plans, living rooms and family rooms have merged into one big room. Regardless of which room in your house you call the living room … I’ve gathered together 10 living rooms to love!
A special thanks to my blogging friends for letting me share their beautiful living and family rooms!
Classic neutrals blend together beautifully in Jennifer’s inviting living room at City Farmhouse. She keeps things soft with floor-length drapes, pretty pillows, and warm throws.
A blue and white geometric rug adds a fun element to Rachel’s charming living room at Shades of Blue Interiors. The feather pillow on the wing chair caught my eye, but I also adore the ruffle on the slipcover!
A nubby rug adds texture underfoot in Bre’s beautiful home. I love the mix of white and wood!
If French Country is your style, you’ll love Jamie’s living room at So Much Better with Age. Soft neutrals and elegant pieces paint a picture of a room in Paris!
What’s this? Another Chesterfield sofa? I’m in heaven! Alice at Thoughts from Alice has such a wonderful, eclectic style. You can tell she’s an artist when you visit her blog!
Lucy’s white room is cheery and light-filled and is always a joy to see!
She’s also an artist and creates some of the most beautiful watercolors.
A rich blue couch takes center stage in Jennifer’s living room over at The Chronicles of Home. She has such a great eye for color and design!
A collection of pretty pillows line up on Shannon’s comfy love seat at AKA Design. I love the whimsical touch of a cowboy hat on the deer’s antler!
And finally, a corner of my farmhouse that has no clear-cut name. I call it my TV room, family room, front room … it even used to be our bedroom at one time!

Yesterday Old Man Winter decided to dump his frosty self all over our neck of the woods to the tune of about 5 inches of snow. I’m not quite ready for it, but rather than wallow in my sorrow, how about a charming home tour instead? I think you’ll love Deb’s home. She blogs over…

Over the years of decorating several homes I’ve lived in, I never really thought of myself as having an affinity for farm style. I just know I like quirky old houses and vintage finds. Since living in my current home, where the streets of town meet the country roads, I find myself drawn more and more to farm…

I see this was originally posted in 2015. Some of the trends have changed since then. I don’t think folks want quite so much white now – lol. Maybe they learned the hard way about keeping it clean.
