A New Coastal Home Blends Luxury Living With Uplifting Comfort
Get ready to be impressed when you step into a new coastal home by Emily Moss Designs. Inside and out, this Bradenton, Florida home is beautifully designed and decorated for casual comfort.
The navy blue and white exterior gives a hint to what you’ll find when you cross the threshold from the pretty porch. Make note of the second floor turret. You might be surprised when you find what’s waiting there inside.
The staircase in the new coastal home gives a nod to roping you might find at a wharf or dock. Rather than wood or wrought iron spindles, the banister makes clever use of rope.
The beautiful kitchen wears the same color palette as the exterior of the home. Navy blue lends depth and interest to the kitchen with its white cabinets and open shelving. The floor features an intricate pattern as opposed to straight planking. A textured rug adds softness and a bit of color.
A casual dining room takes residence in the first floor of the home’s turret, affording a perfect view of the harbor outside. A rattan pendant light lends texture above the round pedestal table with coastal style chairs.
The light-filled family room combines a mix of sand, gray, and blue tones throughout. This room embraces a cool tone, even when the Florida sun is shining through.
You might recognize this bedroom from a few days ago when I featured a collection of light and airy bedrooms. The room is mainly white and pink, but incorporates just a touch of blue in keeping with the rest of the new coastal home decor.
In the second floor level of the turret, you’ll find a unique suspended chair for reading, sleeping, or lounging. Think how nice it would feel to open the windows and let the sea breezes blow. The braided rug is a nod to sandy beaches.
A view of the harbor can be enjoyed from the wrap-around porch. It’s the perfect spot for starting the day with coffee, or winding down in the evening with a glass of wine or other favorite beverage.

They’ve managed to use dark and light tones together very well. And I like that it doesn’t look like a cookie cutter home. Very nice.
