A Remarkable Cape Cod Home: You’ll Love the Rustic Elegance

During the summer months, I like to show homes that have inviting outdoor spaces as well as pretty interiors. Today’s remarkable Cape Cod home by Willow Homes is the perfect example of such a house. It’s not overly large or elaborate, but is perfect at marrying the indoors with the outdoors. Take a look and see!

The front porch is the first outdoor living space you’ll see. The wood planked ceiling matches the stain of the wood doors with large windows. Brick steps add a fun detail to the cement floor of the porch.

The porch is deep enough to fit traditional swings beneath ceiling fans that provides cooling breezes on hotter days. If you look closely at the first photo, you’ll notice the porch has matching swings at opposite ends.

Inside, the kitchen features deep blue-gray paint on the cabinets paired with marbled counter tops. The paint color is a custom color derived from Down Pipe by Farrow & Ball. Gold hardware was chosen to add a touch of elegance.

The stove has a pot filler which is something I’ve always wanted. I’ve heard others say they’re unnecessary but I think they’re fun.

This Cape Cod home enjoys not just a pantry cupboard, but a full walk-in pantry! This type of detail is what makes a dream kitchen a “dream!”

The living room features a minimalist style of decorating but incorporates wood accents like the flooring, the beam in the center of the vault ceiling, and the beam in the doorway leading to the kitchen. A vivid, deep red rug adds a fun shot of color.

A cozy den enjoys a similar look with a red and navy rug flanked by a pair of comfy arm chairs. I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but the windows in this Cape Cod home are left unadorned. Most of my windows are the same, except for the windows facing the street. They have simple shades, no curtains. I’m not opposed to curtains, but I like the detailed trim of my windows and don’t like to cover it up.

How cute is this bathroom? The wall color is Worn Leather Shoes by Benjamin Moore. I love how the vintage sink set into a rustic table, and the industrial style mirror just sets it all off.

The master bedroom doors lead outside to a private patio. A large bookcase with drawers expands the length of the far wall, with a vanity built into the center. Another red rug softens the hardwood floors.

Here’s a view of the bedroom’s private patio that features the same brick used on the steps leading to the front porch.

And the piece de resistance is the outdoor fireplace on the back porch with an adjacent dining space. Today’s Cape Cod home truly blends the indoors with the outdoors in a wonderful way.
