Awesome Renovated Beach House Shines with Simplistic Seaside Charm
Do you feel a pep in your step as the days continue to grow longer and warmer? This is my favorite time of year and today we’re touring a renovated beach house by Ironwood Studio Co., that in my opinion, reflects the spirit and light-heartedness of summer. I think you’ll get a kick out of the bathroom!
Entering the Massachusetts seaside home through the blue door, you’re greeted by a lovely wood and white staircase adjacent to the entryway. A simple pendant light reminiscent of a fishing ball sets the stage for the house’s coastal theme.
Not surprisingly, the family room is awash in the colors of the sea that are reflected in the foggy seaside print above the sofa. Pale blues and grays blend with sandy tans for a calming, serene environment.
I absolutely love this dining room with its shiplap walls and coffered ceiling. I’ve always been a huge fan of wood and white together. The French country chandelier demands attention as your eyes are drawn to the views outside. Slipcovered end chairs lend an air of softness while forsythia branches in a vase add just a brush of color.
The kitchen in the renovated beach house features white cabinets with a dark blue kitchen island and a blue tile diamond-patterned backsplash. The designer chose a copper hood vent as opposed to white to define the cooking area.
And here’s the fun bathroom I mentioned at the beginning of this post. I love the whimsy that the whale wallpaper adds to this space. The wooden textured cabinet lends a bit of depth and interest, as well.
But this – this is the true treasure of this seaside Massachusetts home. Waterfront views are just a step away and can be enjoyed from most of the rooms inside the home.
The mudroom continues the seaside cottage theme with pale gray-blue cabinets against white shiplap walls. Hooks and a bench create easy drop-off space for shoes and coats.
Another fun-patterned wallpaper appears in the master bedroom with a velvety-blue club chair.
A cozy space off the hallway provides an opportunity for secluded reading or napping.
Enjoy the waterfront views from the shade of the porch, or step into the sun and unwind with a frosty beverage in the Adirondack chairs.
