Pink and blue accents add cheer to the cottage style dining room above with a pretty white wicker chair. The flowers are probably from the surrounding garden.

The kitchen enjoys pops of green and blue with white cabinets and a blue tile counter top. Even the Kitchen Aid mixer joins in on the color scheme.

The white wood ceiling and wooden beams you see in the dining room and kitchen, continue into the living room with its patriotic furniture and rustic wood fireplace.

An upstairs bedroom enjoys a balcony with a lakefront view. Door County is on the northeastern peninsula of Wisconsin. My family and I had a fun vacation there a few years ago. It’s definitely worth the trip if you’ve never been.

How fun is this girl’s bedroom with its cottage style bed, shiplap walls, and brightly patterned bed spread? I love the bits of lime green in the space.

Another kids bedroom has built-in bunks under the many eaves of the beach bungalow. Fabric-lined baskets provide storage for toys and books.

I love this bedroom with its black iron bed and colorful bedding. Even the painted dresser and mirror help to create a fresh and fun look.

A view of the backside of the beach bungalow reveals its prime location on the bayside of the peninsula, which juts out into Lake Michigan.

Here’s a front view of the cottage style home that features more flowers that you saw indoors. The dark green siding blends beautifully with its surroundings while the white trim adds a bit of crispness.

  7. Disappointment…I thought this was an Air B n B at first! I was so excited because it is just so darn darling in every way. The bright colors, the cottagey look, the lake setting. Everything. I re-scanned the article and realized it wasn’t a vacation rental and my heart sunk. Drat. Lucky people that live there. Please lift my spirits again, Jennifer, and send us some more fun rentals to check out. I think we are all going nuts ready to plan a little vacay. Thanks!
