1. Earthy, Rich Color Palettes
Cool grays are being replaced by sun-baked terracotta, forest green, creamy stone, and warm whitesโhues that create a grounded, cozy backdrop. Accent colors like plum and pastel yellow inject mood-boosting vibrancy, while standout palettes include burgundy and deep navy.

Authenticity and sustainability are also at the forefront for fall decorating trends this year. 3. Art Deco Revival & Statement Tiles
A bold revival of Art Deco is sweeping through homes, from jewel-toned furnishings and geometric wallpaper (think William Morris) to brass and velvet accentsโa fun nod to the 1920s.
Complementing this, statement tiles, like terracotta, blue ceramic, copper, and Mexican-inspired patterns, are taking over kitchens and bathrooms, adding artistry and texture.

4. Rounded, Organic Furniture
One of the biggest shifts this year’s fall decorating is in furniture shapeโgoodbye harsh angles, hello soft curves. Sofas, chairs, and tables are leaning into rounded, organic lines that instantly make a space feel more relaxed and inviting. These sculptural silhouettes bring a cozy, welcoming vibe while still looking modern and stylish, making them an easy way to refresh your home for the season.
5. Layered Textures & Natural Elements
Homes this fall are all about tactile richness. Think plush bouclรฉ, chunky knits, velvet, wool, layered wallcoverings, and marble accents create depth and intimacy.

Nice post–I love the fall colors, they’re so warm and inviting.
Just a note–William Morris is not Art Deco. His style is Arts and Crafts, which preceded Art Nouveau, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was a back to nature movement, characterized by lots of flowers and flowy patterns in earthy colors just like you described in the article. This was in reaction to the industrialization and mass production of the 19th century.
Art Deco on the other hand, was a movement in the late 1920s characterized by geometric shapes, bold colors, and luxurious materials, a departure from the naturalistic and handcrafted aesthetic of Morris’s work.
Most of the pictures seemed to be of the Cottage Core or Granny Chic style, which is homey and lovely. I’ll be sticking with the usual gradual flow from summer to fall to Thanksgiving with warm rust tones in pillows, throws, candles and ribbon accents. As I get older I do less “fuss”. Last year I carried the rust colors right into Christmas! Our blue and white pieces are always front and center, so it works. When we downsized to a 2/2 zero lot line villa, I scaled back to our blue and white pieces throughout the home letting that be our design anchor. Best decision that I ever made in a lifetime of decorating!!!
Thanks for all these Fall decorating tips. I like golds, purple and blue are my basic colors, I’m not very trendy, but like warm and cozy for Fall.
Everything looks very cozy – just the way that I like it!
