Beautiful Blue and Green Color Combos for Decorating
Want to add a little serenity to your living spaces? Try a peaceful blue and green color combination. The palette is perfect for creating cool rooms that either face south or have expansive windows with a lot of daylight coming in. I’ve been going back and forth between painting my family room blue or green and can’t make up my mind! Maybe I could combine the two like today’s collection of rooms.
You’ll find a range of shades and hues when choosing to decorate with blue and green. Lime green chairs add a bit of vibrancy to a peaceful sun room.
Of course, you don’t have to settle for light and bright. You can go a bit moodier with darker shades, which looks rich in an historic home.
Floral fabric used in curtains and on a chaise lounge mimic the colors seen outside the window, creating a reading corner that feels like you’re outdoors.

Yes, you can use a blue and green color combination in the kitchen, too. Blue on top and green on bottom cabinets create a whimsical vibe.

Blue and green is a great color combo for creating a serene and peaceful bedroom. Paired with white, it looks fresh and clean.
Remember grass cloth wallpaper? My brother’s bedroom had it in my childhood home – which was similar to the Brady Bunch house. It appears in dark blue in this contemporary bedroom – along with a lime green headboard.
The bathroom can be a fun room to experiment with shades of blue and green. I’m lovin’ the tile in this space!
A more traditional style bathroom wears bright blue on the vanity with a sea of fish on the walls.

Although I’ve gotten away from decorating with blue in my home, I do like the way it looks when paired with green. It’s so calming, don’t you think?

Decorating with Red, White, and Blue
I’m with you, the round, multi-colored tile in that green bathroom was SO FUN!! Green and blue is a beautiful combination. I say this while looking out my window wall at trees and sky. Guess God knows what He is doing, right?!!! 🙂
I’m a big fan of cool colors, so blue and green is just fine with me. I especially like the exterior paint on the (nearly) navy blue and sage home. Navy and sage are two of my favorite colors together. Did I mention that I’m a cool color person?? :>)
I love the wallpaper in blue and green , looks so pretty and bathrooms.
Love this post. Thanks. Blue and green have been my favorite colors since I can’t remember when. I still can’t decide which I prefer so I give them equal opportunity in my decor.
I like the light colors of blue and green together and on a light color background. I might say spring colors. Not necessarily expound on a total color scheme.
Lovely range of shades
I remember the blue/green combo from bygone years. Isn’t it amazing how we let some one else dictate our colors for us.
My favorite colors. Love that reading corner and also the last house in the picture.
I am sooo enjoying this post again! I really admire folks who can pull different color choices together. It takes a true artist’s mind to do it effectively. My dad was like that. Reviewing Picture#7 I suddenly realized, “That looks like something Dad would have liked!”
I love the blues in the room with the chaise lounge and also the wall in the historic room. Green can always be added with plants. Thank you for this most enjoyable site.
A very nice post with beautiful rooms using blue and green, but that fish wallpaper is not something I would ever want in my home!
