Wow! I can’t believe this is the one hundredth edition of Friday Finds here on the blog. It seems like I only started this series a few months ago. Time needs to slow down – especially during the summer season. I always get a little melancholic this time of year even though I love fall. It’s just hard to bid farewell to summer.
This weekend I’m going kayaking. I tried it for the first time during our Wisconsin vacation last month and loved it. Hubby and I have gone canoeing but we tend to argue over the coordination of paddling. With a kayak, we can each have our own boat so the experience is more pleasant and peaceful, like it’s supposed to be. I’m still in summer mode which might explain today’s selection of Friday Finds featuring cabin inspiration.
Let’s start this week’s find with the ultimate vacation retreat that will remind you of childhood summers at camp. I had to look at this Midwestern camp compound several times to take it all in. The family renovated a boy scout camp and the result is pure heaven!
Next up is this charming cabin kitchen with a checkerboard floor and cabinets painted in Trailing Vine by Benjamin Moore. There are plenty of before and after photos so you can truly appreciate the work that went into the makeover.
If you’re looking for a charming, vintage place to stay on the eastern seaboard, look no further than The Groggy Anchor. Located in Provincetown, you can rent it for your next vacation.
One of my favorite home tours that I’ve featured here on Town and Country Living is this gorgeous lakeside estate. You might remember having seen it.
As always, I’ll end with a yummy recipe – in this case, it’s several recipes featuring icebox cakes. Which one looks most appealing to you?
Enjoy your weekend. I’ll be out on the local lake in a kayak – maybe both Saturday and Sunday if I can fit it in.
