Create Beach Style with Boat Oars
Happy August! This month my family and I are going on vacation to Door County, Wisconsin. Four families sharing one big house near the beach! I can’t wait and to satiate my desire to go, I enjoyed seeing how some people created beach style by using boat oars in their home.
Some boat oars are painted in fun colors, and some are left in their natural state. I think this red, white, and blue bedroom is fun and pretty.

Instead of a plant or umbrella stand, this home enjoys a group of oars in a basket by the front door. It’s a whimsical, rustic accent by the gorgeous staircase!
Oars are a great accent for a large wall, like this dining space. A pair of them looks just as pretty as a gallery art wall.

I love how the oars in this dining room reflect the colors and patterns of the rug. What a fun space with a beach vibe!
As you can see, boat oars are appropriate for every room of the house when creating beach style.

This homeowner did a little thinking outside the box by featuring a pair of oars on kitchen cabinet doors.
And then there’s this interesting staircase that uses oar-shaped posts going up the steps. What a great idea for a waterfront home.

A pair of red oars serves as towel hooks for an outdoor shower. This is a cute idea for an indoor bathroom, too.

So many ways to use boat oars to create beach style at home. Even a collection of painted oars look great lined up – hanging from a dark wall.
I can’t wait to go on vacation with the whole family in a few weeks. The house we’re renting is a modern farmhouse not too far from the beach. I’ll be sure to take lots of photos!
