Charming Elegant Cottage ~ The Wicker House

Can a cottage be elegant and charming all at the same time? Yes, it can if you’re Emily from The Wicker House! I think you’re going to enjoy this tour of Emily’s light and airy home that she’s lived in for just a little over a year now. She’s done a lot of creative work decorating her charming elegant cottage so let’s get on with the tour!

Lots of natural light floods Emily’s charming home. It would be hard to have a bad day in this pretty house. Natural elements add visual interest in the living room, like the big floor basket at right, the driftwood wreath above the fireplace, and the wooden crate atop the coffee table. And did you see the white wicker rocker in the corner? Love!

 

Another angle of the living room reveals the pretty French doors that lead into the office. The comfy couch is perfect for watching TV or sitting by a crackling fire in the winter.

 

Emily has created an enticing office in her home with unique touches. The book case shelves are lined with colorful maps while an array of framed photos decorate the wall above the desk.

 

When Emily needs a break from working at the computer, she can lounge on the day bed in the office.

I’m lovin’ the multi-paned windows in this corner of the room. It must be heavenly during the warmer months when you can throw open the windows and take a little nap right here in the corner!

 

Emily has such a pretty kitchen! She painted the kitchen cabinets white (my fave color) which really lightens up the room. Even puppy enjoys the kitchen with its unique light fixtures!

 

The glass front cabinets and etched glass pantry door provide interest and loads of charm.

 

So many interesting details populate Emily’s dining room … from the architectural trim to the built-in corner cabinets to the chandelier and more! The industrial side table adds a unique element to the space, too.

 

Who can resist an under-the-eaves bedroom? Comfy bedding makes you want to crawl right in and saw some logs! I love the exposed brick chimney in this space.

 

In the boys bedroom, chalkboard paint covers an entire wall. What boy wouldn’t love this room? It’s personalized with large sports photos above each bed … what a clever touch!

 

Outside, gorgeous wicker furniture takes center stage, with pretty pillows to sink into!
