Our temperatures here in Illinois are cresting over 80 degrees for the next full week. That means it’s beach time! That’s what it feels like anyway, but it could return back to cooler breezes in early June. Since I’m in a summer frame of mind, I’m sharing a pretty coastal kitchen that’s bright and fresh!
A pale blue kitchen island adds a splash of ocean color surrounded by white cabinets and subway tile.
A fun “Beach” typography sign frames a corner window nook while playful whale figurines adorn the sills.
Iridescent blue tile mimics the shine of the sea above the kitchen range while glass front cabinets are equipped with lights to display coral and other beach treasures.
Wood floors the color of sand are reminiscent of seaside beaches. A painted wood ceiling lends a bit of texture.
Galvanized metal stools provide ample seating around the large kitchen island. It’s a great place to gather before enjoying a day at the beach.
Beach vignettes are scattered throughout the coastal kitchen. A large shell on the kitchen island, outdoor lanterns, a basket of seashells, and a glass jar of white starfish. Even the family dog finds this beach style kitchen relaxing and inviting!
This weekend I intend to take full advantage of the warm weather and work in the garden. I hope you have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!
