Farmhouse Table for a Breakfast Nook

farmhouse style, kitchen ideas February 13, 2018

Yes! My farmhouse table from Pottery Barn finally arrived! I ordered the Stephens table last October and for whatever reason it was on back order for a while. But it’s now in my breakfast nook and it was worth the wait. (This post contains affiliate links.)

Farmhouse Table from Pottery Barn

My new farmhouse table is solid wood. The real stuff. And I love it.

Our previous table was a flea market find and a bit wobbly on its feet. It was a cute table, but I was longing for a sturdy wood farmhouse table that wouldn’t require any painting in years to come. I gave my old table to my neighbor whose grandson just got a new apartment and needs furniture.

The table isn’t the only new thing in this space. A new country barn painting in neutral tones replaces the mirror on the wall and a new pendant light from Antique Farm House hangs overhead.

Country Barn Painting

The painting is from Hobby Lobby and while I like the picture, I really love the wood frame. It matches the wood of the table.

The farmhouse table has two little drawers in it, on opposite sides.

I love the rich wood grain of my new farmhouse table. Although I like painted furniture, I miss the nuances and grain of plain wood.

The kitchen nook feels warmer and cozier to me now with the table, barn painting, and rustic pendant light. The chairs are from my dining set. It was a little crowded in the dining area so I’ll keep these chairs in here – unless company comes for dinner and we need them in the other room.

I think I’m done with new furniture for a while now. That doesn’t mean our projects are done though. Hubby and I have been busy painting and I’m anxious to share the changes to our downstairs bathroom. Nothing major, just cosmetic stuff.

Love the table. Great choice. Itโ€™s a wonderful feeling to have a vision of a space completed, especially when the result looks as great as yours!

Hi Deb! I wanted to get rid of that wobbly white table for the longest time. This new one will probably be with us for the rest of our lives. ๐Ÿ™‚

Your new table is so amazing, but then how can you beat Pottery Barn? The addition to your home of darker colors and wood finishes is making everything so warm and welcoming. I love the direction you’re taking. If you’re this creative in the winter, I can’t wait to see what you do when Spring arrives. I know I can hardly wait for winter to be over. I’ve been way too lethargic during this cold and gray weather. I need to know it will soon be warm and the grass will be green again. I’ve definitely had the winter doldrums and I have so much to do.

Hi Pat! If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been lethargic too. It gets harder to wake up in the mornings and that never used to be a problem for me. I know I just need more daylight. There’s a reason why I’m making so many changes to the house – I’m going to blog about it soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Laura! Pottery Barn kept pushing back the delivery date. I was afraid they were going to tell me it was no longer available. I was looking for just the right table for a long time!

Your new table, picture and lighting are all great. You can never go wrong buying solid wood. My daughter has some fourth generation furniture in her home now. Every piece is still beautiful.

Thank you, Margaret! Your daughter is so lucky to have heirloom family pieces in her home. I wish I had taken some of my grandmother’s things when they downsized after retiring.
