Colorful and Cozy: Surprising Burnt Orange Bedroom Ideas

I don’t think most people would choose an orange color for their bedroom due to its vibrant energy, but today’s collection of burnt orange bedroom ideas proves that this particular hue feels warm and inviting.

Let’s start with a traditional bedroom that features the cozy color on the walls. Paired with creamy bedding and blue floral window treatments, the space is both elegant and charming. The dark wood floor helps ground the room.

One thing I noticed when searching for a burnt orange bedroom, the hue varies considerably from rust tones to brighter hues. Even paint colors run the gamut of shades and intensities. Twin beds in this bedroom are cleverly suspended by ropes over a burnt orange area rug.

If walls and rugs are too much of the orange hue for you, consider a comforter that shows a bit of it. The geometric circle print comforter pairs well with the blue and cream striped headboard. The window seat displays pillows in the same color palette.

Here’s a wonderfully cozy burnt orange bedroom for heading into fall and winter. The color scheme and architectural details, like the stone wall and woodwork over the bed, remind me of a Tuscan villa.

This open air bedroom with touches of burnt orange is found in Hawaii. The selection of pillows on the bed coordinate beautifully with the orange tone of the wood.

This photo shows how to use wall color to transition from one room to the next. A plaster-hued paint in the hallway is a great choice leading into a dark burnt orange bedroom. Plenty of cream in the bedroom keeps the wall color from becoming too intense. The result is a cozy vibe, perfect for snuggling under the blankets.

Not a fan of orange? Try a single, solid-colored pillow to infuse a little pumpkin spice into the space.

Another color that looks good with burnt orange is gray. The intensity of both shades help balance each other out, causing a calming effect as opposed to energetic.

Orange and brown are two colors that work well together, too – especially in a log cabin style home. This reminds me of a lodge you’d see out in Wyoming or Colorado.

Here’s another bedroom with just a touch of the warm hue in the fabrics. I love the duck upholstered headboard and the burnt orange pillow helps pull the color out in the duck fabric.

  1. I used this colour once on a feature wall in my bedroom…it lasted a month. Lol. The colour was stunning but it just wasn’t for me. I like light colours on my walls but will decorate using lots of colour in my accessories. The pics you showed are beautiful and I always admire those rich colours…but on other peoples wall.🥰

  2. Burnt orange and navy or royal blue is a gorgeous combination also. I love to use the burnt orange color spectrum in the Fall since I have a lot of collected blue/white chinoiserie.
