Create a Cozy Breakfast Nook with a Round Dining Table

dining room decor April 4, 2022

Large family meals can get a little chaotic so I enjoy cozier meals with less people. Sure it’s nice to have all your family over at once, but conversation tends to be more intimate with less. I found several cozy breakfast nooks that feature a round dining table – perfect for conversation and dining!

A galvanized metal table is a great choice for a farmhouse dining space. A script drum shade light fixture and wooden cross-back chairs complete the look.

Of the eight examples shown, this one is my favorite. I love the large, sturdy round dining table with elegant legs and the leather banquette. Plus, I’m looking for window shades (that don’t cost a fortune) just like the ones shown in this cozy breakfast nook.

Here’s a more modern dining space with a round table and Scandinavian style. This apartment has a view of Central Park. Simple furnishings allow the scenery outside to take importance.

To offset a square space (dining nooks are usually square or rectangular), a round table is a wise choice. Less angles help to soften the room. I would’ve like a round table for my own eat-in kitchen, but I couldn’t find one with the right dimensions after months of looking. I found a cute, square Pottery Barn table with drawers though so I’m happy.

A craftsman home enjoys a cute dining space with a little schoolhouse light overhead. I love the way the interior window frames match the dark tone of the cabinets. The round table is just the right size, allowing for people to comfortably reach all chairs.

I’m lovin’ the fringed, chenille table cloth on the round dining table in this cozy lshabby chic style breakfast nook. Note how the texture of the rattan chairs matches the bamboo texture of the window shades. It’s a nice touch.

If you love white farmhouse kitchens, you’ll probably enjoy this little dining area tucked at the end of the kitchen.

Don’t have a built-in banquette but like the look? Use an upholstered piece of furniture with chairs gathered around a table to create a similar look.

Very cozy and intimate. I always prefer a small number of guests as opposed to a large crowd. Having a large number of people is too stressful.

Hi Shayna! I agree – it’s way more stressful having a lot of people over. Small and simple is nice, but a couple of times every year I have all the family over. I’m always exhausted after they leave. LOL.

Love these! I have a round glass table in our dining nook. We have had so many fun dinners with family and friends around that table. Fun for playing board games with the grandkids too! I’m thinking that shabby chic tablecloth might be a bedspread. What do you think? Love the look! Love your blog too! 😊

Yes to card playing around a round table! I do think the “tablecloth” is a bedspread. So glad you enjoy my blog!

Many cute ideas here. I see something in all of them but the ultra-modern overlooking Central Park that I like.

I think a full-on wood table would have cozied up the first pictured space a bit more but I’m an absolute sucker for cafe curtains.
It’s probably my favorite because of the curtains. Imagine that room with a dark wood round table and tall ladder backs? Talk about coziness!!!

I like the first one the best as well due to the built in like bench. I really like the hanging light fixture as it also reminds me of the one I grew up with hanging over my grandmothers built in nook we had our breakfasts in every morning before school. The best year ever.
I wonder if you can make those curtains with some no sew tape even?
Nothing beats a nook for comfy eating and a newspaper!

Many years ago saw a round Guy Chaddock table I fell totally in love with. It has been in my kitchen for 25 years and I still love it just as much. When you find it you just know!
