Create a Pretty Fall Porch

When it comes to saying goodbye to summer, I’m like the girlfriend who doesn’t want to let her boyfriend go and desperately clings to any bit of fading hope I can grab. I love summer and am always a little depressed when it comes to an end. It’s a good thing fall bursts forth in riotous color and beauty. It helps heal the wounds that summer’s departure leaves behind. The beauty of autumn decor also helps lift the spirits … like a pretty fall porch.

Pam at House of Hawthornes always creates a pretty fall porch. She uses farmhouse tubs and baskets to pot her mums and they look so quaint and charming on her porch with pumpkins and corn stalks.

Suzy at Worthing Court creates a symmetrical fall porch with matching urns and pumpkins flanking her front door.

Normally you see dried corn stalks on a pretty fall porch, but this homeowner opted for fresh green stalks that bring out the green of the fall wreath hanging on the front door.

Christy’s fall porch at Our Souyhern Home is warm and inviting with its brick walls and basket of gourds. A vintage mirror and desk add just the right touch of pale blue.

 

A pretty fall porch doesn’t have to be fussy. This white porch with vibrant turquoise front door sports a simple collection of white pumpkins for fall adornment. Its simplicity is so endearing.

My heart skipped a bit when I saw this charming red cottage with its collection of green pumpkins and gourds.  They bring out the color of the door and shutters.

And finally, Doreen at Hymns and Verses creates a beautiful screened-in porch with autumn accents. Why limit fall decor to the front porch when it looks as equally charming on a back porch?
