Decorating with Pastels

Spring is the season of pastels … soft color, soft sunlight, and the wakening of the world from its slumber. The faint hues of spring prepare us for the riotous smorgasboard of colors in the summer. I love spring and everything about it! Even the gentle rains that freshen the earth. An annual springtime ritual of mine is decorating with pastels throughout the home. Here’s a few examples from Houzz that are giving me inspiration for the next couple months.

A pretty, Cath Kidston inspired kitchen is filled with fun pastel colors! A dainty flowered wallpaper pairs with a soft blue door and refrigerator. White trim adds a clean, crisp touch.

Normally we don’t think of painting our front door in a pretty pastel, but why not?

This coral colored door is stunning against the dark gray exterior.

Yellow always looks great in the kitchen and it sure is sweet on the walls of this farmhouse.

I just adore the sink and cupboards in this kitchen, and the yellow sets it all off!
