Fun Colors in the Home

home decor July 6, 2017

White is a color often used in today’s decorating world. White kitchens for example, have been trending for a while. But I know many of you crave color in your house so today’s post is all about fun colors in the home. Whether soft and subdued or bold and bright, it’s always fun to add a pop of color in a room.

Blue walls create a lively backdrop for a cottage style kitchen table adorned with a white and yellow buffalo check tablecloth. This is sure to be a scene that brightens your day first thing in the morning when sitting down for breakfast.

If you’re a white-lover, all you need is a small dash of your favorite color. Paint the inside frame of a window and if you get tired of it after awhile, you can simply repaint it.

Here’s more blue and yellow! Actually, there’s a few shades of blue in this cottage and it looks crisp and fresh when paired with white.

My sister’s favorite color is red and I know she’d love this kitchen island.

A pale shade of blue adds cool color to an expansive kitchen. Yellow lemons and sunflowers add more fun colors to the home.

Think a pink bedroom might be too sweet? The addition of blue and brown provide fun colors in the home while inserting a touch of sophistication.

If you’re afraid to commit to color on the walls, use textiles to add fun colors in your home. A cheery bedspread and patterned pillows are an easy and often budget-friendly way to change the look of your bedroom. In the living room, use throws and pillows to change up the colors.

Happy colors. Yes, I would be brave enough to paint my kitchen cabinets an aqua blue. I know because I did this 4 years ago. They now coordinate with the Mexican tile backsplash we installed. My kitchen is small but I love it.
