English Country Home, Small Kitchens, and More :Friday Finds

Happy last day of June! Although, I’m not really happy with this month ending because I like summer to last as long as possible. We’re finally getting some rain after about a month-long drought. But now we’re getting a few hazy days thanks to the wildfires in Canada. Chicago had the worst air quality this week because of it. The skies seem to be clearing now, though. That means I can get back to taking long walks outside. But let’s focus on the positive and check out this week’s inspiring finds.

English country house and garden

Take a tour of a very lovely English country home with an interesting and inspiring story. I love the various fabrics used throughout the house. Very romantic.

Since we’re on the topic of English décor, check out photographer and stylist, Belle Daughtry and her site Just Belle, for an array of pretty photos. You can also follow her beautiful creativity on Instagram.

Don’t miss the most charming collection of small kitchens, curated by House and Garden. One kitchen even has a pink floor!

My daughter found the most charming curtains by Maisonlartisane on Etsy. I like these simple café curtains that I might order for my kitchen.

Are you a plant person? If you answered yes, then you’ll enjoy seeing this pretty Polish home with some type of flora in every room.

My heart has been stolen by this utterly charming Nantucket home. From painted floors to the claw foot tub, I would love to spend an entire summer in this house.

I’ll end with one of my favorite fish recipes – Broiled Tilapia Parmesan. It’s easy to make and is a nice, light entrée for warm summer days. Serve with your favorite veggie!

Have a relaxing and enjoyable 4th of July weekend. Hopefully you have a few days off to celebrate!

  1. Goodbye, June. Hello Florida sunshine, afternoon showers and heat. Thank goodness it’s all healing for the body and soul. So sorry about the smoke from the fires. It’s really sad how the wilderness areas aren’t being allowed to manage for fires more effectively anymore. No controlled burns, digging of fire trenches etc is a recipe for disaster, which of course, is what we are seeing when arson or carelessness occurs. Hopefully, folks will wake up and go back to time-tested forest management which enhances the wilderness areas and not erode them. Sigh. You know what? Out of ALL those kitchens, I didn’t see a single one as cute as YOURS!! Looking forward to seeing it when you are done with the tweaks. Perhaps the summer heat will get you inspired to finish up inside. But, I’d be sitting on the edge of your deck, dangling my feet in your gorgeous pond all day long if I had the chance!

  2. Thanks, Jennifer this was so entertaining, all those beautiful homes we toured. There was so much to see and enjoy. Have a fun 4th of July!

  3. The pink kitchen is off to a good start and a color I would not have thought of. Love the easy linguine dish, more would be appreciated.
