Fresh and Airy North Carolina Home

Today we’re taking a break from all the Christmas decor to tour a fresh and airy North Carolina home in muted tones. There are several elements I love about this charmer!

The first thing that caught my eye in the kitchen was the pair of framed cow prints (no wonder, since I have several cow paintings in my own home). I also love the shiplap, open shelves, and wood floors.

A pair of large botanical prints add color in this fresh and airy North Carolina home while lending an earthy, organic vibe.

A sisal rug in the dining room adds texture and interest. I’ve always been a fan of sisal, but fear my kitties would claw it to shreds if we had it in the house.

The entryway features a metal mirror that looks like it’s framed by twigs which adds to the earthy appeal of this North Carolina home.

Neutral bedrooms seem so serene and peaceful to me. The French ruffled pillow is soft and pretty against the floral bedding.

A second bedroom repeats the soothing, neutral color scheme. Natural linens adorn the bed and I love the full bed skirt.

  1. Marlene Stephenson says:

Thank you it was a nice break from all Christmas stuff and gave my poor mind a break, lol! Lovely and soothing with just enough color.

    • Hi Marlene! I fell in love with this house. The neutral colors were so soothing and serene! I wish you and your loved ones an enjoyable holiday and a New Year filled with peace and love!

  2. This post was so refreshing with its neutral and calm colors. Are we doing way too much colorful decor at Christmastime? I think maybe we are. I can definitely see a resolution in my future to tone it down, both in color and in stressful preparation for the holidays. I’ll leave the over-the-top decor and prep to those who appreciate it.

Note: Jennifer, the over-the-top does not refer to you. You know I love your down to earth taste and decor.

    • Thanks, Pat! You might enjoy my Christmas Eve post which is about nature inspired Christmas decor. It’s simple and influenced by Scandinavian design. I hope you and your loved ones have an enjoyable holiday and a New Year filled with peace and hope!

  3. I think this house would be appealing for a lot of people. I know I could move right in. It is both comfortable and classy at the same time. Very nice. Thanks for sharing this.

  4. Love this! Refined without being stuffy, on trend without rooms full of cliches. Very cool!
