Fresh Spring Look for the Kitchen
Remember when I confessed that I spent too much money on faux flowers in a single shopping spree? I’m attempting to turn buyer’s remorse into shopper’s glee by using the flowers as much as possible. So it should come as no surprise that I created a fresh spring look for the kitchen using said flowers.
I had so much fun taking photos of my spring kitchen because I just got a new Nikon camera! It’s an upgrade from my former camera and I’m still learning how to use all its bells and whistles.
You’ll notice I haven’t found new kitchen bar stools yet. I think I’m going to cut the legs off of the ones I have (they’re too tall) and re-paint them.
My little pink bowls and flowered plates came out to join the pink faux flowers.
The wicker type glass holders also came out to complement the chargers.
More faux spring flowers add color to the counter by the sink.
See the three little animal faces on the kitchen window sill?
They’re little grass growing pots for cats! I saw them at the grocery store and thought they were so cute. My kitties like to chew on plants so now they can have their own personal plants that are safe to eat. They come in a variety of animal faces and will soon be sprouting.
I’m still lovin’ my new kitchen hutch. I don’t miss the open shelving on this wall.
It’s in a corner of the kitchen that gets lots of morning sun so I’ve put a couple plants here. On Thursday I’ll share some of my favorite houseplants.
Are you loving that the days are lengthening?
The sunshine in my kitchen makes me happy!
Stop back on Thursday for houseplant favorites!!

Why I Love Pink Gerbera Daisies
Love your stools. Hope that you keep them 🙂 I also thought that the wicker glass holders were cool.
I have a great story about glass holders. About 10 years ago I ran across 4 cut silver glass holders for $1 each at a garage sale. I grabbed them up because they were so beautiful; however, as time told, the sharpness of the cut edges made them not very practical for usage. When we made our last move, it was a downsize so I had to make some decisions regarding what would stay and what had to go. The silver glass holders didn’t make the cut. As I examined them to my delight and surprise they were not just silver, but STERLING silver. (Those sterling marks can be soooo tiny!) So hubby gathered all the silver that didn’t make the cut and down to the jeweler he went. Imagine our surprise when he came back and told me that silver was at its all time high and those $4 glass holders netted us well over $400!!
Omigoodness Deb! What a great discovery you made! In Country Living magazine they have a “what’s it worth” section. I always enjoy seeing people buying something for a small amount, only to find out it’s worth a lot more!
Do not get rid of those stools. They have such character that you will not find in shopping for stools, at this time.
Cut them, paint them – make them work.
Love your pink bowls
Hi Nan!
I’ll probably keep the stools. I just need to decide what color to paint them. Why spend money if I don’t have to? 🙂
So beautiful x
Thanks, Kim!
I love your beautiful flowery plates and bowls!
Thanks Susie! I think the last time I used them was last Valentine’s Day (2017). I kinda forgot I had them. Oops!
Those wicker glass holders are so unique. Very nice. As are your flower arrangements. Great save on the excessive purchase there! ;-). I’ve loving the extra light too. Went for my first walk to try to be more active when I got home from work yesterday!
Hi Tracy!
I’ve been taking walks, too. It feels so good to get fresh air in the lungs and enjoy nature. The robins are back and the daffodils are almost ready to blossom!
Are the little animals on the ledge supervising or admiring ….they fit in perfectly . I like the citrus with the floral. I agree with Nan about the bar stools, what ever you do ….keep them. The arrangements came together beautifully.
Thanks so much, Margaret! Aren’t the little animals adorable? I couldn’t resist them. They had other animals too! And yes, I’ve decided to keep the stools. It’s easier on the budget that way. 🙂
Love those cute little pink bowls and please do not get rid of those wonderful stools.
Thanks, Marlene! I need to paint the stools. I just don’t know what color to choose yet. Life decisions, right? 😉
Oh My! I’ll be right over for breakfast! Seriously, I could probably even eat oatmeal out of those pink bowls, and that’s saying something. What a sunny delightful spot.
Ha, ha Nancy! I may have to give the bowls to my daughter whose fave color is pink. I found the cutest pink glassware that would go perfectly with them, but I didn’t buy them. I keep thinking of them though!
I love your island! The stools are awesome. I love the flowers too. I love your kitchen.
Thanks so much, Julie!! Glad you enjoyed my kitchen! 🙂
Very pretty, yet simple, floral arrangement! And I love your sunny kitchen too. And the stools. I’d keep them too.
Thanks, Christine! Everyone is saying to keep the stools so I probably will! I’m always surprised how sunny the house is because it’s on the north side of the house. I think the eastern windows must be perfectly positioned to capture the morning sun.
Everything looks beautiful and your new camera’s photos are a real treat.
Lovely tour! The stools are so perfect for your space… and say you do the makeover, instead of replacing! 😉 The cup holders add some beautiful texture, as well! Pinning!
Ooh! I love your spring kitchen, Jennifer! I’ve happily pinned several photos to my boards on Pinterest. Sorry I was late getting over here as it’s just about the beginning of a new week. I’ve been enjoying everyone’s spring posts. 🙂
Enjoy your Sunday,
Barb <3
How exciting that you got a new camera! I love my little Canon EOS Rebel but at some point I’ve got to move up, when I can afford it. 🙂 Yours is taking really nice photographs ~ so bright and cheerful! Love your tablesetting and the sweet rose bowls are pretty {and my favorite color: pink!!!}. I don’t know… If you cut those stools down, they will never be the same and the proportions will be off. May just be better to get some new ones and put these away for the next house, or sell them. Just some thoughts on a bright and cheerful Monday morning. 🙂
