Spring Decorating in a Farmhouse Dining Nook
Snow, snow, go away! I’m trying to push away winter by adding bits of spring decorating throughout our home, and I went all out in our farmhouse kitchen nook. This week I’m joining some beautiful bloggers in the Seasons of Home Spring Tour … aka “Blooming with Color.” The weekly schedule is at the end of the post, so be sure to visit their pretty blogs for spring decorating and recipes.
When I think of spring color, I think pastels …
Especially pink! I’ve always been a pink kinda girl.
My inspiration for spring decorating in our farmhouse kitchen started with this vintage tablecloth.
Up close, you can see the tablecloth has a variety of pastel colors.
My aqua trimmed linen napkins match perfectly!
I added a burlap table runner to keep it from looking too sweet.
To add color to the runner, I added a few strips of colorful ribbon.
Vintage aqua bottles continue the pastel color scheme.
I love pink and blue blooms together. Especially in an aqua mason jar.
I have to be honest … sometimes I really struggle with what to put together.
And other times, like now, my head is overflowing with ideas.
I filled a second enamelware pitcher with another sprig of pink blossoms.
When I walk in our farmhouse kitchen in the morning, the efforts of my spring decorating makes me smile.
The pink pops against the white and lifts my spirits, making me forget about winter for the moment.
The big mirror in my kitchen reveals what’s on the other side of the room.
A couple days ago I shared the instructions for making the spring botanical print banner.
It adds a bit of spring decorating color to our built-in hutch.
Later this week I’ll share my spring decorating on the other side of my farmhouse kitchen.
Mismatched chairs add a bit of cottage charm.
Be sure to check out the other ladies on the tour this week.

So pretty and spring like. I love how you did the table runner with the ribbons. Hurry Up Spring.
Your kitchen nook is so lovely, Jennifer. You always create such soothing and charming decor in your home. I could gaze at your photos all day against the backdrop of our snow covered ground.

I love your tablecloth ( one of my all time favorite things is vintage tablecloths!) and the decorating you did! Big fan!
So pretty, and spring has not arrived in my neck of the woods either. Still buried in snow here.
Such beautiful touches. Making want spring even more than I already do. Still have snow everywhere in NJ. Love the pink used in the enamel pitcher and the mason jar. The table looks lovely.

Your kitchen is always adorable, Jennifer. I love the theme you took from the vintage table cloth. It looks so pretty with the pink and blue against the white.
Jennifer this is gorgeous! I Love Aqua and Pink in the Spring and this would surely brighten my morning as well!

It looks so beautiful Jennifer! I love the idea of adding the ribbons on the burlap…never would have thought of that. So creative. Love your pops of color! Happy Spring (I hope soon) to you!
I would never guess that you might have snow outside. Everything is so beautiful!
Have a lovely one,
Lin
Just absolutely beautiful! I love every single detail. It is so cheery.
So, so pretty!!! Now this is spring!! Never mind that we are supposed to get 6 inches of snow tomorrow!! I’m coming back to get another dose of spring.
Jennifer, I love what and how you put things together! Question? Where did you get those tall white glasses? I love them!
How beautiful, Jennifer! All the beautiful flowers and pretty table setting, all of it makes me long for spring.
What a beautiful table you have set. It is just so lovely and so sweetly simple and refreshing. Beautiful photos.

Pretty spring table. Your milk glass goblets are pretty. I think I want to add some to our cupboards. 😉
Can you tell me about your kitchen floor? Did you put that tile in or was it there when you bought the house. I am looking for flooring for my kitchen and want something other than wood. I like yours.
Thanks, Heather. The flooring was here when we moved in. I’ve been told it’s Mexican tile, if that helps.
This is the most beautiful room! I really want to copy your banner idea. I wish I could come visit! what a fabulous place to live 🙂
