Friday Finds #5: Sweet July
Happy 4th of July weekend! Most of the gardening is done and now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of labor. As I write this I’m sitting in the shade on the deck by the pond. It’s humid, but a gentle breeze is blowing so it’s quite pleasant. Following are some of my favorite finds from the week that I think you’ll enjoy, too!
When it gets too hot to be active outside, it’s nice to get a little reading done. I ordered a couple books to enjoy during the next week of forecasted 90-degree days with high humidity. I have a bench in the shade garden so I can read outside.
In the vegetable garden, I harvested the garlic scapes and made some wonderful pesto with them. I’ll share that recipe next week – you can freeze it for future use.
And now for this week’s Friday Finds:
An array of beautiful English country bedrooms awaits you at the Hunker website.
Kris at Driven by Decor has an inspiring bathroom makeover for you to enjoy.
I absolutely have to make these Vegetarian Walnut Slider Burgers from my friend Janet at Shabbyfufu. They sound perfect for summer.
When I stumbled across this tutorial for transforming old vases into beautiful terracotta pottery I about fell off my chair. Who knew you could transform something so easily with terracotta paint. I absolutely have to try this!
If you’re going to do any outdoor entertaining, be sure to check out Courtney’s gorgeous outdoor table setting ideas.
Just a reminder, there’s still time to enter the Global Bohemian book giveaway for a free copy of the decorating book by Fifi O’Neill. The winner is announced tomorrow!
