I have a corner in my family room that needs a new chair and I’m on the hunt to find one similar to the above chaise style chair. Of course, my cats will probably take it over! When creating an inviting corner, don’t skimp on a comfy chair. Get one you love even if it means spending a little more. You can cut back somewhere else.

A built-in day bed is a great option for a small retreat in a corner of the room. A nearby book shelf and sconces for reading create a perfect spot for relaxing. The view out the window is what it looks like outside my house right now. It’s time to curl up with a blanket and avoid going outdoors. It was below zero this morning!

An English cottage living room mixes patterns and stripes in a small space. If you’re a little hesitant to mix and match, stick with a simple color palette like white and blue for a cohesive look. A mix of patterns automatically creates a cozy vibe.

For a twist on a cozy corner, set up a game table that can double as a place for dining, too. Play your favorite board games or enjoy a round of cards. The banquette makes great use of space, along with upholstered stools.

Once I get my cozy corner set up in my family room, I’ll take some photos. I recently painted the room a calming sage green with a darker green on the trim work. Have you claimed a corner in your home to yourself? It’s like a she shed without the shed!
