How to Create the Perfect Summer Bedroom Oasis
The summer season signals an ideal time to throw off the heavy blankets and lighten your room to create an appealing summer bedroom oasis. You can still layer your bedding, but thinner throws and fewer blankets will help to create a light and airy vibe.
Some people have a fall/winter comforter and a spring/summer comforter or bedspread. For summer, choose floral fabrics that mimic the gardens outside that are in bloom.

You can shed the bedspread altogether and simply go with a top sheet and a light throw at the foot of the bed. Windows are left unadorned while a bouquet of peonies add springtime fragrance to your sleeping space.

If you’re feeling especially ambitious to lighten up your bedroom, consider brushing a pastel paint color on the walls. Pink walls instantly create a summer bedroom oasis, especially when paired with floral curtains and bedding.
Blue stripes are always a great choice for summer decorating since they evoke a coastal vibe. Replace heavy drapes with pretty floral curtains. Bamboo shades block out harsh sun in the late afternoon. Blue hydrangeas are a summer staple in the garden and bring summer softness into the home.
Summer white bedding lightens a pale blue room. Add botanical prints to create a summer bedroom oasis.

We often choose softer colors for bedrooms but don’t be afraid to add brighter colors during the warmer months. A white matelassé coverlet creates a neutral background to balance all the color.

Swap out artwork to create a summery vibe. Waterscape prints and paintings remind us of relaxing vacations. It’s surprising how a change of artwork can create such an impressive impact.

Even a wood-paneled space can become a summer bedroom oasis through the use of cool colors like blue and green. Wooden fish art calls to mind carefree days at the beach or lake. I love the mix of florals, stripes, and geometric patterns in this pretty room.
For a truly lighthearted vibe, add something simple like a display of paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
My grandmother always transformed her bedrooms in the summer season. She’d infuse white or floral bedding and removed the layers of blankets. As an added bonus, she always hung the sheets on the line outside to dry. I loved falling asleep to the fresh scent of the sheets when I’d visit her in the summer. It was such a treat.
Do you have a favorite from today’s collection of summer bedrooms?
Such cute bedrooms. My two favorites are the first one and the fourth one. So cozy and comfortable. And of course, pretty.
I love the rooster quilt it is so unexpected.
I liked 3 and 4 the best, there’s something in each I really liked.
