Lately I’m becoming more and more drawn to anything made with book pages! Within minutes the words on a book’s page take you to another place and time. The musty smell of an old book with an elegant cover is a sensory pleasure I’ll always treasure. And when you’re done with a book, you can transform it into a work of art. I’ve been collecting books for projects around the house and thanks to Pinterest, I’m finding an unending supply of crafts to make from inexpensive books found at yard sales and thrift stores. Some of the following creations are mine … some belong to others and they’ve been credited.
Are you ready to have a bit of fun? I know some of you are big Alison Kandler fans and today you get to see inside a Christmas cottage she decorated that’s filled with whimsy and color. Alison is known for her bold use of color and her work is always cheerful and uplifting. Ready…
Christmas comes too quickly! I wish I could stretch it out for about three months. Then we wouldn’t have to rush and we could enjoy casual Christmas comfort. Which is exactly the vibe I’m going for in our family room with this year’s holiday decor. (This post contains affiliate links.) My vintage-style red truck is…
Christmas is coming … quickly! Seems it gets here faster every year. I’m hosting Christmas at my house this year so I’ve been playing around with a Christmas table setting or too. I found some gorgeous plates at the flea market last month with the intent of using them for Christmas dinner. My first idea for…
The Christmas week is upon us, friends, and I wish you peace and contentment in the days ahead. No one’s holiday is perfect, but we can still find joy and appreciation in the small things. Like a child’s smile when opening a gift or the comfort of a warm blanket on a frosty night. And…
Do you get nostalgic around the holidays like I do? I remember Christmases from my childhood and the great joy the holiday held. Part of those fond memories includes favorite foods and treats. And so, with a nod to nostalgia, I’m sharing a simple homemade eggnog recipe with you! Once again I’m joining the…
Last night hubby and I ventured out to the college town of Dekalb, Illinois for their Hometown Holiday shopping event. I visited my favorite shops and stocked up on a few glitzy vintage Christmas decorations (I’m craving glitter houses and bottle brush trees this year). A few weeks ago I decided what my 2015 Christmas…
How inspirational…I love your butterfly boxes Jennifer. They’ll sell for sure! I really like book page crafts myself and lucky for me my daughter works at Half Price Books and my niece works at a library. Both of them keep me in good supply of pages. “:o) Now to get busy and do something with them. I don’t think I realized you had an etsy shop…I’m going to check it out.

What fun book page projects, Jennifer! I bought an old dictionary at Goodwill a couple of years ago and I’m still waiting to find some good projects for those pages. I never even thought of looking on Pinterest for ideas.
Very neat projects. Each is unique. I love books and old books even more. I would feel uncomfortable cutting up a book. Where do you get the books for transformatio? Maybe I could cut up paperbacks! I see several projects of interest if I can get over the cutting hesitation. Would love to learn your source. Hugs, Ginger
