Peaceful Blue Kitchen with View of Puget Sound

kitchen ideas October 15, 2020

Today’s kitchen is hard to describe in a single sentence. A simple blog title simply won’t do it justice. A rich wood vaulted ceiling, a black slate floor, and a wall of windows provide the frame for this beautiful space. A surprising color on the kitchen cabinets led me to dub it the peaceful blue kitchen. Because I imagine stepping into this space would immediately relax your nerves as you gaze out the windows for a view of Puget Sound.

It looks like the knobs from the stove became the inspiration for the shaker kitchen cabinet color. Or maybe it’s the other way around. Glossy white subway tiles seem to reflect the light from the wall of windows. The black slate floor is rich with a little bit of drama added in.

Would you use the dishwasher – or wash the dishes by hand if you had a view like this from your kitchen sink?

Glass shelves in front of a portion of the windows creates extra storage while allowing for natural light to flow in.

I like that an unexpected pale blue is used on the kitchen cabinets, instead of gray or white. I would imagine part of the inspiration came from the waterfront views outside. The peninsula provides a great spot for dining and enjoying nature through the windows.

I don’t know about you, but I would by this house for the kitchen alone. The warmth of the floor and ceiling, coupled with the amazing view, is all I’d need to call this home. Not to mention, it sure would inspire me to cook more.

I am not crazy about that shade of blue, but I do love the layout, and that view is breathtaking. I would definitely hand wash the dishes. Thanks for sharing, and have a great day.

I would be hand washing the dishes for sure! I would have coffee by the sink maybe move the cute stool into the kitchen in order to enjoy the view all day. This is a well planned out kitchen and I love the glass shelves! The blue color is very light and I love that the stove knobs match!

    Thanks for sharing!

This kitchen is spectacular with all those windows with a view to die for. I even love the blue cabinets and the pop of blue on the stove is such a nice touch. I would definitely spend a lot of time in this happy place.

This is the perfect addon kitchen that I have seen. All of the electric on the inside wall and water on the outside walls.
The slant roof with beams completes the project. Someone had a great idea and followed through.
