Rustic Ski Barn: Making the Best of Winter
Last week we toured a sunny beach style cottage, and today we’re doing just the opposite and enjoying a rustic ski barn that makes the most of the snow and winter season.

Gorgeous Windsor chairs gather round a large, natural wood dining room table (above), while Windsor-style bar stools snuggle up to the kitchen island (below). Color is brought into the rustic rooms through textiles like the drapes and rug.

You’ll find rustic wood beams and trim throughout the ski barn, yet the interiors don’t feel dark or foreboding. Plenty of windows and vaulted ceilings help to enhance the spaciousness while the rustic elements create warmth and cozy appeal. And hello – can we talk about that amazing kitchen sink with its cute little skirt? I’m in love!

Moving into the living room, you’ll find more color is brought into the neutral space through textiles. Pillows, drapes, and upholstery liven up the large room its amazing stone fireplace.

The living room opens up into the dining room. Although each room is separated, the ski barn feels like open concept living due to the height and openings of walls and ceilings.

This home would’ve been perfect for our family Christmas vacation – although I’m not complaining about our holiday digs in Galena. That was a fantastic home, too.

Oh, how I love this bedroom! It has me wanting to re-do my own bedroom but since I painted it not too long ago, I’ll resist the urge to re-decorate.

If you enjoy more color in your bedroom, you might like this cozy room better.

Bunk beds create additional space for guests and extra family members. The red color theme is carried throughout this warm and cozy ski home.

A smaller sink similar to the one in the kitchen finds it way into the bathroom. Love the mirror with its playful polka dot trim.

The color red is echoed on home’s exterior trim. Wouldn’t this make a great winter vacation get-away?

This home IS wonderful! Thanks for always bringing us beautiful and inspiring spaces; inside and outside.
Well, I would describe my decorating style as, perhaps, traditional romantic. There’s a challenge for you to find! 🤣
Hi Deb! As soon as I read “traditional romantic,” a few houses immediately came to mind. Stay tuned! I think I have a few you’ll love.
I know you were just near the Home Alone house…to me that sounds like Traditional romantic. The outside and of course the sets to represent the interior in the movie.

Love this home. Why is it that beamed ceilings can turn pretty much any space into something special?
This is beautiful. I would love to live somewhere like that.
I want that kitchen sink, love this rustic barn.
Always love the homes you show us – it helps me look outside the box. I would like to see some modern built craftsman style homes – hopefully that will not be to much of a challenge?
Thanks for all your lovely and interesting pictures of the most beautiful homes. You make my day!
