Sarah Richardson’s Wonderful Cottage, Holiday Rooms + More: Friday Finds
After a lot of back and forth with the family, I decided to host Thanksgiving this year. I don’t know where everyone is going to sit because I gave my extra large extendable table with chairs to my daughter. I’m going to have to get creative with seating which might involve pulling vintage end tables in front of couches for makeshift dining spaces. I’ll figure something out. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some interesting things around the web!

I came across a gorgeous Thanksgiving to Christmas mantel. Instructions for recreating the look are included so you only have to adorn your mantel once for the upcoming holidays.
Don’t miss this cozy den makeover by the extremely talented Jenny Yolo. She took a very bland, outdated room and turned it into a space anyone would love to call home!
My friend Danielle at Finding Silver Pennies is such a talented artist and she recently created a new watercolor called “Lighthouse in the Snow.” You can get this beautiful design as a print for wall art or as an ornament for a Christmas tree.
Farrow and Ball shares some of their favorite holiday rooms on their blog, all painted in one of their gorgeous colors, of course. I think I best like the rooms in the “Join the Dark Side” section.
I know a lot of you are fans of designer Sarah Richardson, and I know you’ll love touring her Georgian Bay cottage that features a wonderful watery color palette.
Holidays bring festive gatherings which means people coming over to your house. As if you don’t have enough to do with shopping and baking, you need to find time to clean, too. Check out Houzz’ list of tips for speed cleaning your home.
And now I’m off to wrap some presents and put out a few Christmas decorations. My shopping is all done so I feel like I’m a little ahead of the game this holiday season (although I still haven’t put up a tree yet). How are your holiday plans coming along?
