See How to Infuse Your Home with Romance and the Color Pink

Valentine’s Day will be here soon and I thought it’d be fun to share some ideas on how to infuse the color pink into your home to create some romance and a little bit of frivolity. From the front door through the rest of the house, pink can add a special sparkle.

Look to your rugs when determining a color palette for a room. Pink chairs and touches of blue pull those colors from the rug into the rest of the space.

If you’re not afraid to go bold, splash pink on the walls and choose upholstery in floral prints that honor the color pink. My daughter would love this living room.

Painting just one wall in the color pink lets you enjoy the shade without fully committing to it. This dining room enjoys a mix of pinks and greens, which is always a pleasing color combo.

Soft pink chairs lend romance to a dining space in a white kitchen. An elegant chandelier is like the icing on the cake.

Love the use of color and drama in this transitional home office. The bold pink office chair is flanked by paler pink chairs across the desk. Gold is great accent for pink, along with the color black. The look is dramatic and sophisticated.

A dark gray home office gets a shot of pink in the adjoining closet that’s been transformed into additional work space. This is really a clever use of space.

A bold pink kitchen island takes center stage in a Scandinavian style home. Bar stools in varying colors create fun and interest in this light and airy kitchen.

A cooler gray and white kitchen uses shiny pink tiles for the backsplash. My daughter, who loves the color pink, recently painted her kitchen cabinets gray. I need to show her these kitchen tiles that will match her pink Kitchen Aid mixer.

The mix of tiny square tiles on the wall and the scalloped pattern on the floor caught my eye in this bathroom with another unique mirror.

This romantic bedroom has just the right touch of soft pink in the patterned pillows and curtains. Even the rug wears the same soft shade to pull it all together.

Why stick with a boring white ceiling? Paint it pink! Soft gray, as seen in the shades and upholstered bench, are a classic, complementary color.

We started with a pink door, so we’ll end with one too.

  1. As a recent widow, I have added some pink and burgundy to my bedroom and I find it relaxing. Thank you for your blog.

  2. I love her mix of pink in her decor. She did it so beautifully. Pink can be tricky and she pulled this off so well. Love it all.

  3. I couldn’t stop looking at the rooms! That large floral rug in that office space..wow! Wish I knew where that one wood bed came from as I’m hunting a new one. Nobody ever answers those questions on that site..so buggin’! ha!
Who knew I loved a touch of pink? Really enjoyed this!

  4. My favorite was the romantic bedroom in white with soft pink in curtains and pillows. Just the right amount of color and in soft tones so as to not be overwhelming. Very pretty.

  5. I have a Queen Elizabeth coverlet that was gifted to me by my aunt. They truly are loomed to be Heirlooms. Still beautiful. This one is in a soft shade of ivory and pink. I bought two pink and white curtains from IKEA and modified the style to be more traditional. I also added Ikea white lace curtains to add hominess to the room. I plan to paint my walls in a soft Ivory tone and compliment them with Black frames with flowers and birds. I also have a second white Queen Elizabeth Blanket which I could also use if I decide to paint the room a soft pink. Decisions, decisions.
