Small Georgia Farmhouse with Big Style That You’ll Love

Get ready to fall in love with today’s charming Georgia farmhouse by Hunt and Gather Design Company that’s small on space but big on style! Personally, I’d rather have a home with a small footprint with lots of quality details – as opposed to a large cookie-cutter home void of any character. Today’s quaint dwelling fits the bill perfectly.

One look at the exterior tells you all you need to know about the inside. Custom doors and windows pair with a stone patio and primitive wooden bench, giving a hint to the treasures you’ll find once you cross the threshold.

We’ll start in the kitchen with its creamy white cabinetry and high-end quartz counter tops. Simple pendant lights add cottage charm, along with the paneled ceiling and trimmed walls. A wood floor adds an organic, homey vibe.

An expansive window over the apron sink lets in plenty of natural light. Painted knobs enhance the cottage style of this Georgia farmhouse while a brass goose neck faucet lends just a touch of elegance. A long patterned runner lends a pop of color underfoot.

From the dining area of the kitchen you have a sight point through the living room into the bedroom. Look carefully and you’ll see the fireplace in the bedroom. The home has a nice traffic flow.

The dining nook is charming with the same wall and ceiling treatment as the kitchen. A round table softens the square room (making the shape a better choice than a square or rectangle table). A simple pendant light adds a touch of softness while a pair of prints flanking the window lend a bit of color.

A living room with a sage green bookcase invites you to linger and unwind in this cozy space. The linen Chesterfield sofa is quality furniture – sometimes all you need is that one standout piece in a room to make it look rich.

The bedroom windows of the Georgia farmhouse don’t have curtains – just like the kitchen. I don’t have curtains on any of my windows either – only shades for privacy. If you live on some acreage, you might be able to get away without having any window treatments at all. The fireplace adds to the coziness of the off-white bedroom with its four-poster bed.

Penny tile flooring pairs with pheasant wallpaper in the quaint bathroom with a colorful Turkish rug. Note the magazine holder above the toilet paper dispenser. A simple brass faucet pairs with a marble counter top on the vanity lending just a bit of elegance to the space while olive green beadboard keeps the cottage vibe.

Here’s a closer view of the pheasant wallpaper, which I like but might not choose for myself. I tend to lean toward florals and old-fashioned geometric prints.

  1. Love the layout of the kitchen and the fact it has so much cabinetry. Also liked the green bookcase. The sofa was very elegant looking, maybe just not too practical for day to day living. Overall a very pretty home.

  2. Oh…that bookcase wall and sofa, etc. Amazing. Definitely getting ideas for my own home.
I have to have blinds, curtains for privacy and heating and cooling issues in my old house.

  3. There are so many charming details in this house. I think the kitchen is my favorite space, but I also love the size and location.
