While I typically think of June 1st as the beginning of summer, the season doesn’t officially begin until June 21st – the longest day of the year. In anticipation of the arrival of summer solstice, I’ve rounded up several examples of pretty porches to provide inspiration for sprucing up your porch
. An easy way to give your porch a new look is by swapping out your cushions and pillows. Bright colors are always fun and you can find affordable outdoor pillows on shopping sites like Target or Amazon.
Add a new indoor/outdoor rug to provide a touch of color. Add planters and flowers in the same color to enhance the playful spirit.
Who can resist a big porch swing? If you’ve got the space, this is almost a necessity! Plant flowering bushes nearby for sweet fragrance and a pretty scene.
Some people don’t like dark colors for summer, but there’s something cool and cave-like about this dark brown porch with blue and white accents.
Large container gardens add instant color and softness to this brick porch. Include a flea market bench and you’re good to go!
It almost looks like the garden has crawled up onto this front porch. What a refreshing spot to enjoy a glass of lemonade and watch the world go by.
Containers are a great vehicle for bringing your flower gardens up onto the porch. Add a pair of blue wicker chairs to enhance the romance.
Freshen up your summer front porch by pulling house colors into your accessories. Pillows and plant stands emphasize the hue of the orange door. In fact, you can quickly update your porch by painting the door a new color.
Drapes add an ethereal touch to the porch, but you might not enjoy cleaning them. Keep summer days cooler on the porch with overhead ceiling fans.
If you have a long front porch, consider adding a dining table at one end. Dining al fresco is such a summer treat! I dragged my kitchen table outside for a temporary and fun front porch dining experience.
And if your porch isn’t that large, you could always tuck a small café table and chairs in the corner. Add fun paper lanterns for a party effect.
If your porch is big enough, create a cute potting station with a bench and metal light fixtures.
Do you have any plans to spruce up your front porch or another outdoor area this year?
