Today is Memorial Day and while we honor those who served our country, we also enjoy time to rest and reflect on this holiday. Hopefully you get to enjoy time on the front porch enjoying this last day of May. I rounded up several examples of pretty porches to provide inspiration for sprucing up your porch this season. An easy way to give your porch a new look is by swapping out your cushions and pillows. Bright colors are always fun.
Add a new indoor/outdoor rug to provide a touch of color.
Who can resist a big porch swing? If you’ve got the space, this is almost a necessity!

Large container gardens add instant color and softness to this brick porch. Include a flea market bench and you’re good to go!
It almost looks like the garden has crawled up onto this front porch.
Containers are a great vehicle for bringing your flower gardens up onto the porch.
Freshen up your summer front porch by pulling house colors into your accessories. Pillows and plant stands emphasize the orange door.

Drapes add an ethereal touch to the porch, but you might not enjoy cleaning them. Keep summer days cooler on the porch with overhead ceiling fans.

If you have a long front porch, consider adding a dining table at one end. Dining al fresco is such a summer treat! I dragged my kitchen table outside for a temporary and fun front porch dining experience.
And if your porch isn’t that large, you could always tuck a small cafe table and chairs in the corner. Add fun paper lanterns for a party effect.
This isn’t a front porch … but it sure is a pretty porch with its cute potting bench and metal light fixtures.

So many pretty porches. We were supposed to have a beautiful one when we built this house but the town board stomped on that saying not enough room. I was so bummed . I wanted a porch swing like in your picture. Towns are a pain with building.
Hot here too and then a b Lou t cooler. Going from 50 to 88 is a bit much for me

Those are some lovely Examples! I so miss my front porch from previous homes. A favorite memory is sitting on it with a baby in the playpen on a glorious spring morning like we have been having this laat week. My kids in NC have a wonderful front porch with a porch swing. I would love to be able to buy what I think they would like for it and just have at all shipped there without any explanation of where it came from. Maybe I will win the lottery this weekend🙄
It’s a joy to look at ideas of other peoples porches and how they decorate. My front porch is screened -in and i just finished washing it down, it has cedar shakes on the walls and it smells so nice afterward. I love setting out there in the evenings when weather allows. Thanks Jennifer and have a nice day.
I do love a porch with rocking chairs and over size pillows. A swing and lots of plants, and at night plenty of stars. I think that must be called heaven just outside the front door.
I don’t have a front porch, but i sure want one! I’m trying to figure out how to “fake” one along the front wall of the house. These photos were very inspiring! Thanks!
Oh how gorgeous!! where did you get that porch swing?
Nice selection! The photo attributed to IN-DECO caught my eye and I followed the link…what an interesting Russian home!
