Stunning New House Porch Ideas to Inspire You

Older homes get a lot of attention here at Town and Country Living, but new homes can be equally charming and unique if they’re custom built. Today I’m featuring a new house porch collection that proves you can add character to new construction. Each porch and home has its own unique details that create interesting curb appeal.

First up is a two-story home that’s partly decked out in cedar shingles. The focal points of the porch are the wooden front door and the large picture window. Below the window is some limestone work that mimics the foundation of older homes. Large posts add a little heft and structure. The little dinette set calls you out for morning coffee.

This new house porch gets a treatment of the craftsman style with its wood and stone posts. Metal vintage-looking motel porch chairs pair beautifully with the red craftsman-style door.

A new farmhouse enjoys a large wraparound porch with a red brick floor. The lack of railing creates a simplified approach to curb appeal. There’s a house I drive by frequently that’s having a porch like this one added onto it. I can’t wait to see the finished result.

An arched ceiling mimics the arch of this home’s grand front door. The wood ceiling is the same shade of stain as the door, tying it altogether.

Beautiful grand entrance

Even a small, new house porch can be appealing, especially when it frames a pretty, pale blue door. The wood elements create a bit of rustic interest.

How you embellish a porch is important, too. This one is kept simple with an Adirondack chair and flower pot. Low-growing boxwood bushes soften the home’s foundation without blocking the view of the porch.

Keep the color of your front door in mind when selecting porch furniture. Red Adirondack bar stools emphasize the cheery red vibe of the glass-paned door.

Peacock rattan chairs lend a bit of romance to a southern style home. Large windows reveal plantation shutters used on the inside of the home. The front of this charming home enjoys an assymmetrical approach to architecture.

Modern farmhouse with lots of trees

Here’s a new house porch that wraps around just one side of the home, due to the garage and driveway on the other side. But even the garage is attractive with its custom doors and paver driveway.

White home with gray roof and wrap around porch

Here’s another porch with an arched roof. A lighter shade of stain is used on the ceiling than on the door. The arch and oval window add a unique contrast with the high peaks of the roofline. I love everything about this home – it’s my favorite from today’s collection.

This home looks like it could be from the Fixer Upper television show. Simple lines with the use of wood, black, and white make it a creation that Joanna Gaines would approve.

Do you have a favorite from today’s new house porch collection? I honestly don’t think I could live in a home without a front porch. I’d have to have one added on if the home didn’t feature one.

  1. They are all very nice. I like the same one you do too. It’s the whole package. The house is great, beautiful landscaping, and nice porch.

  2. Maybe it’s my southern roots, but I think a house is so much more welcoming with a front porch. It makes such a great transition space from inside to outside, and in our hot climate, it helps with shading some of the windows.
Thanks for the lovely look at porches!
