Three Wonderful Home Tours and the Cutest Mugs Ever: Friday Finds
It’s been another great week of inspiration for the home. A big event that took place was the naming of Benjamin Moore’s color of the year, Cinnamon Slate. The description says it’s a combination of plum and brown, but it looks mauve to me. Mauve reminds me of the 1980s and surprisingly, Sherwin Williams includes Mauve Finery in their Color Capsule of the Year for 2025. I’m not a big fan of mauve, but it will be interesting to see what designers do with this palette.

Leaving mauve behind, let’s move on to this week’s inspiring Friday Finds!
Cabins always give me a warm fuzzy kind of feeling. I like when they’re rustic with vintage décor tucked inside. Even a modernized cabin can feel cozy and nostalgic, like this log cabin with under-the-eaves bedrooms.
If you haven’t finished your outdoor Halloween decorating, consider these cute mini pumpkin lanterns. They’re perfect for lining the sidewalk to your house.
Today’s second home tour is a colorful charmer located in Maine. Everything is so bright, sunny, and happy! And the front porch is beyond amazing.
A popular kitchen debate pits upper cabinets against shelving. Annie at Zevy Joy shares the pros and cons of a kitchen without upper cabinets. Which team are you on?
Is anyone else out there a mug collector like me? I can never pass up a cute mug. This week I stumbled across the cutest collection of mugs at Cupperfield. I think they’d make great Christmas gifts.
I’m ending today’s features with this wonderfully renovated 1860’s cottage in New Orleans. I love the use of color throughout this home. There isn’t a single thing I don’t like about it.
Darn you! How am I supposed to pick out a mug from all the gorgeous selections?
Thanks for sharing, Debby
No mauve for me, thanks. I have seen it featured on other blogs lately, just not for me. All your other suggestions have given me a lot to think about, so, thanks!
You were so right, that last home tour was so pretty and perfect.
I really enjoyed the 1860 cottage. The rugs were interesting, I believe they were antique ones.

I am totally flipping out over those red and white Roman shades!!! I’ve been thinking of making some Roman shades for my house and I think they have inspired me to take action. Now, the question is whether to make them loose fold or use the slats for a more uniform fold. What do you think, Jennifer? Or anyone else that has had Roman shades???
Thanks in advance.
