Vintage Desk Vignette

home decor August 10, 2015

Last weekend I worked with my daughter on her new home office area, which motivated me to create a vintage desk vignette in my own home. Since school starts for a lot of kids this month, I decided to haul out my vintage penmanship poster to start things off!

Vintage Desk Vignette

I love my penmanship poster and it was such a steal!

The last time I featured it on my blog was at my Christmas home tour.

Vintage Penmanship PosterMy painted wall shutters provide the perfect backdrop! All I did was hang the penmanship poster from a stretch of twine using small, wooden clothespins.

Vintage Desk VignetteI have several vintage posters that I can swap out according to the seasons.

In fact, I recently placed a vintage butterfly poster on my summer mantel.

Vintage Books VignetteBack to school season means books to read so I tucked a few of my vintage books inside a mini suitcase I purchased a few months ago.

Vintage Desk VignetteThe suitcase is covered in vintage maps and I love the colors.

Vintage Desk VignetteI added a few of my vintage bottles and an air plant to finish the look.

Vintage Brown Bottles VignetteI just started collecting little brown bottles. Aren’t they cute?

Vintage Desk VignetteIncluded in my vintage desk vignette is a potted succulent and a couple more crusty bottles, with a big feather stuck in the smallest one.

Vintage Desk VignetteThis desk was a $35 garage sale find from several years ago.

I painted it and decoupaged the desk using script style scrapbook paper.

Vintage Desk VignetteMy vintage desk vignette is now ready for the school season, even though I don’t have any kids in school. But I’ve actually been thinking of taking a computer class at our local college this fall. Maybe a web design class or a Photoshop class.  A photography class might be fun too!

I have that very same penmanship chart and it doesn’t remotely look that cool! Love your vintage desk vignette!

I love your vintage desk vignette. Going back to school for fun classes is fun. I am currently taking a furniture painting class even though I paint furniture and sell it in my booth. It is so interesting to learn new ideas and techniques. Enjoy.
