The past year I’ve been making changes to my home decor, opting for earthier tones inspired by nature. I’m adding more houseplants too, but there are other ways to bring the outdoors in. Here you’ll find 9 nature inspired decorating ideas!

The first is an entryway lined with garden botanical wallpaper. A garden hat with tools add create a potting room vibe.

Create an architectural, nature inspired decorating element by grouping a variety of tall branches in a large rustic vase. You can achieve the same look on a smaller scale with short branches and a small vase.

Back to houseplants. They’re probably the easiest option for adding a bit of nature to every room in your house. Anyone can have a green thumb. Just make sure you select the right plants for the amount of light your room receives and then follow the water instructions for your particular plant.

On a smaller scale, add a framed nature inspired poster or print. I love vintage bird images. Pair it with a topiary for increased appeal.

In the kitchen, a group of white-framed botanical prints bring the outside in. A grouping of small plants on the refrigerator lends texture to the white space.

Emphasis is given to a single botanical print in the dining room by leaving the rest of the wall blank. A trailing plant scrambles across the table like a runner.

  1. Just kidding but, the first thing i thought of was tracking in dirt , think goodness i realized, I have been buying some plants, and potting them. I did bring in some grapevine and twist it around a mirror. I love your ideas and love the light and bannister,so clever.

  2. That birch banister is pretty durn cool! Whether it is sitting in the sun every day for a few minutes, bare feet touching the earth or plants in the home; God’s created nature is amazingly healing. 😇

  3. Thank you for the work you do to send out all of these wonderful homes and interiors. They are unique and often enchanting. I appreciate all bloggers, but am getting a little tired of the black, white and grey/whitewashed farm house look everywhere, even though I do like it too. You are offering lovely variety and colors.
