11 Appealing Living Room Designs with the Best Fireplaces

Are you ready to enjoy 11 appealing living room designs that embrace comfortable furniture arrangements and cozy fireplaces? When it comes to fireplaces, I prefer the type that consider the entire layout and decor of the room. Some of the newer constructed homes in our area seem to put a small fireplace on an expansive wall, which ends up looking awkward and limits where you can place sofas and chairs. But today’s examples consider the entire design.

The rustic stone fireplace above is a great choice for a neutral-toned living room with slip covers and hardwood floors.

Below, a charcoal marbled fireplace surround accompanied by a white mantel looks crisp and clean against dark blue walls. This appealing living room also makes use of linen slipcovers on the furniture.

This appealing living room is one of my favorites. I always love a mix of textures like the natural wood ceiling, shiplap walls, and rustic stone fireplace. Expansive windows add originality to the space, opposed to a wall with just a small window or two.

  1. These rooms are absolutely beautiful but I would love to see beautiful living rooms with a corner fireplace. Corner fireplaces are so difficult to decorate around especially when you have the added focal point of a large built in shelving unit.

    1. Hi Laurie!  I can see how that would be a challenge. I’ll try to find some corner fireplace inspiration and do a post on that in the future. I’ll bet you’re not the only one who would benefit from it.

  2. I like the one with the spindle chairs and the one with that big navy chair. I’m ready to light the fire and let the snow fall..hurry up so we can enjoy spring sooner..:0)

  3. I favor the rustic and cottage styles with the stone treatments. It is hard to choose a favorite out of these pretty rooms. Happy Thanksgiving!
