Adorable Homes, Colors, and Kitchens: Friday Finds

It’s the first weekend of the New Year! Did you make any resolutions? I typically don’t because I always end up breaking them. This year, I’ve set intentions instead, such as exercising more, not getting involved in unnecessary drama, and spending more time with family. I think those are all doable and manageable so I feel good starting 2024.

Today I’ve got some really cute inspiration to share with you. Hubby always laughs when I say a house is cute. He doesn’t understand how a house can be cute. I think it makes perfect sense though when you see it.

I’m starting this week’s finds with my favorite of the week – a beautifully renovated cottage-style kitchen that’s not over the top. It’s pretty and practical. LOVE the tile and blue cabinet color and all the other details like the scallop work over the kitchen window.

Also adorable is this utterly charming Tudor home that mixes old with new for the prettiest and comfiest effect. I would move into this house in a heartbeat!

Getting ready to paint a room? This Old House shares how to choose complementary paint colors using a color wheel. I really like the feature room that shows red and green together.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a cabinet and a cupboard? And yes, there is a difference. The Spruce shares the history and difference between these two kitchen staples.

I’m charmed by this project that turned a small, under-the-eaves bedroom into a cozy home office. You’ll enjoy the before, during, after photos. The diamond-shaped window shutters are such a great addition.

And finally, for those of you who love blue, you don’t want to miss this line-up of the best blue paint colors. Each room example is pure eye candy!

Hope you have a good weekend despite some of the chaos in our world today. Enjoy those moments of peace when you can!

  1. This was another good one. Loved the scallops they kept in that kitchen, who knew there were so many colors of blue. Thanks and have a great weekend.

    1. I just appreciate seeing your posts come up in my inbox, but the kitchen renovation you shared has so many unique and beautiful features. I am so happy to see people keeping within the footprint of your original space that have. Bigger and more open is not always better!

      1. Hi Paula! So glad you enjoy my blog! That kitchen is so cute! I’m noticing a trend away from open concept living and back to individual rooms. Personally, that’s what I prefer too – separate rooms
